Hi everyone,

I plan to apply for a dtv next month under the remote worker category. It is a new job so I can't provide proof of previous pay slips for that job, will that be an issue? Does anyone have any recommendations of how to frame that in the application?

I have well over the required funds for the past 3 months which should hopefully help.

Thanks
Summary so far
A user seeking to apply for a DTV visa under the remote worker category expresses concern about the lack of previous pay slips from a new job. Community responses indicate that not having past pay documentation may lead to challenges in obtaining the visa, with recommendations including providing a cover letter, proof of contract, and a letter from the employer confirming remote work. Participants emphasize the importance of meeting specific requirements and providing solid evidence of remote work to avoid rejection.

Frankly I don't think you are going to be successful in getting the DTV visa with such a new job that you created.

Carefully read the posts and experiences of others who have applied for the DTV visa for workcation. Describing the documents needed to submit with your application. As well as those requested by the Thai Embassy or Consulate upon initially reviewing the application.

It's not about how much $$$ one has, its meeting the requirements for the DTV workcation visa.

Demonstrate your success in doing business with clients outside of Thailand. And show what it is that you do in providing services or product to your clients.

Recommend six months of payslips or proof of income.

You'll probably be asked to show previous experience in the employment field you're working in. Just can't suddenly show up and be a rocket scientist. Definitely included a brief cover letter outlining your qualifications and situation. Possibly a previous contract and income slips.

do the math 🧮

For example

12 x 60k income that’s 720k

He or she has to spend 80% in life expenses

What’s left of that today when he applies? 100-200k?

Then have a 500k savings acc.

Total worth 600-700k baht at best

Or the guy who has 1,5M baht saving ACC that equals more than a 12m income from the average applicant…

And can yet show only 2 months of active income yet but he’s longterm active contracts remote and his own sole proprietor business since 2 months at 60k a month

Which person has more money when applying ?

The guy who has 12x already spend income and barely a 500k acc

Or the guy who has 2 months income yet but has 1,5M aka more than a 12m pay check untouched not spend yet

The first guy has 700k on average at best when he applies

The second guy has 1,6M when he applies

Yet it would make sense they reject guy number 2 Because he has to wait an other 2-3 months to show invoices 🙈😂

But guy number 1 who has half his money and needs to work and save an other year or 2 to have same capital

Yeah he gets approval Offcourse

They should teach math 🧮 and common sense

And stick to basic requirements and not make things up.

Average joe making pad Thai 2h a week and barely have a 500k acc getting 5y visa

Meanwhile capital stronger people get doubted ???

What about the one who has a guaranteed income AND a few million thb savings in his bank account after years of working?

Is he allowed to spend money for beers at 7-11?

you should be a volunteer at immigration office …

They need men like you who have nothing to do then sit all day replying useless comments about visas.

I been 3y in Thailand so don’t worry about Me.

Guide the people here who are scratching to have 500k for 12 weeks 🫠✌️👏🏻

But if they have 6 months payslips they ok right?

Meanwhile someone who just started up remote and has active contracts for 2 months would be doubted for approval?

While he has 3x or 5x the money to begin with

What’s so hard to understand that 6-12 months payslips means nothing …

Reality is those people spend their payslips already

They have only the 500k and payments of the past so that money already spend to live from,

Some have 60 months worth of savings and 2 recent payslips

I wonder who has the best odds in reality to live 5y in Thailand ?

The 500k with 12 months spend payslips

Or the 2-3M guy with 2 recent payslips

The last one his capital are 50 payslips worth and still has it today

The first one has barely a 500k car 🚘 and payslips that are worth nothing but a printed paper of the past

Since that money is 80% finished if not all of it

So yeah the whole you need 6 months this blabla is BS

You need active income and 500k

That’s it.

They approve people with no income and 500k doing 3h pad Thai lessons a week even …

Let it make sense 🤷🏻

To enter Thailand, you might need a visa depending on country of origin of passport and depending on length and purpose of visit.

You need a TDAC and you might be asked for 20.000 Thb or equivalent currency in CASH..

I suggest to bring that minimum and not 400k Euro in cash as that must be reported to customs at leaving where you are and entry into Thailand.

NO idea who told you, but never listen to that person again, that you need to show 6 months income first to be able to spend 60k baht a month

idk is my 400k euros enough to enter Thailand you think?

Or Do I have to show 6 months income first to be able to spend 60k baht a month you tell me

You have to think from the perspective of the person who's processing visa applications. Their job is to be suspicious, looking for proof to back up your claims about remote work. If you have been searching the group you might find reports of people having no work history being rejected although there's no way for us to know if that was the reason why. There are other reports that some embassies make additional document requests for payslips or bank statements showing the deposit if the work income, and tax returns.

WOW, and this fantasy world system is a new DTV requirement?

How has the most money and how much do you have to spend while being in Thailand?

Why you make up or listen to people who make their own rules.

The Thai Government rules are difficult enough for most DTV applicants.

Dont try to push some weird self made calculations and you must spend this amount advice as rule as it simply does not exist in Thailand.

What my knowledge of math has to do with the set requirements of the Thai Government is something I also not understand, but i guess it has something to do with your rules. You must show your old school records to be able to apply for a visa.

it’s called basic math…

People who have 2-3-4-5-6M baht

They have 60 months income already to go

But yet a 500k broke guy with some 6 months payslips they already spend would be a better match?

Math wasn’t your best class I recon

Anonymous participant 880 it's the ambiguity (and as you call it suspicion) that makes this awkward.

Very simple to just right revenue requirements.

Yes a 9 month cooking course is good for 5 years 😅

Contract outlining terms including salary and an explanatory letter. Also a letter from the company giving you explicit permission to work remotely from Thailand and stating that you won't work with any Thai entities or clients inside Thailand
