I currently have a non-O foundation volunteer visa and work permit that I've held for 15+ years. I'm switching to a religious (RA) visa soon. The department of religion said I need to apply for an E-visa and recommended getting it in Penang, Malaysia.

The problem is that I can't apply for an E-visa if I'm in Thailand. What's the process for switching visa types like this?

I see my post was removed. The answer from Tod was great. Not sure why it was removed. I had a follow up question about my wife and son. Do they need to apply separately or is there a place to include them as "followers" on my application?

**For anyone who successfully applied for DTV for yourself and your family (Walk-in):

**

Did you apply for both yourself and your spouse at the same time, or did you have to get your visa approved first before submitting theirs the next day?

I’m applying in Taipei and need to plan the trip duration. Thank you so much!🙏

Hi

I am french citizen without residency.

Can I apply for a 60 days on arrival visa?

Also I could get a DTV as a spouse as my husband is going to apply for a DTV learning muay thai

What would be the best option

We plan to stay 6 months

Thanks

Back in September my family and I got two-month tourist visas in KL. I wrote up a report on the experience that I then forgot to share on here... perhaps this is no longer helpful if things have changed since September, but if this is still useful, here are the details:

As promised, here is a post about my recent experience (September 2022) of applying for Thai tourist visas for my family (UK nationals) in KL. Short story, we got them, but it was not without stress. If you do want to do it in KL, you need to:

* Go to the website of the Thai embassy in KL and make an appointment to make your application and then a second one the next day to pick up your visa (applications are in the morning, pick up in the afternoon)

* Make sure you have downloaded and completed the application form (available online) and got two passport photos

* Gather together all your supporting documentation, i.e. a photocopy of the photo page of your passport, your last three months' bank statements showing transactions and your current balance (make sure you have a few thousand dollars in there), flights in and out of Thailand within 60 days, and a booking showing that you have paid for accommodation for the whole length of your stay in Thailand (contrary to what it says on the embassy website, you don't need the taxpayer number of the hotel - we just used a regular Agoda booking confirmation PDF - you may still need that number if you are saying you'll be staying in a rented house though)

* As we were applying as a family of three, we needed three copies of all the supporting documentation - make sure to do all your photocopying before you arrive at the embassy as the nearest place offering photocopying had a very long queue on the day I went

* We also attached our wedding certificate and our kid's birth certificate (not essential, but they advised that could be helpful for a family applying together)

* You also need to print out, complete and sign a checklist (available on the embassy's website) to show that you have included all the things mentioned above

* Payment is in ringgit and cash only (don't be an idiot like me and try to pay on a credit card...)

One final thing, we had been in Thailand since May with visa exemption plus COVID extensions. That didn't stop us getting the new visa though and the woman in the embassy advised that it would only be a problem if we had overstayed previously. I don't know if it also helped that we were not coming straight from Thailand to get the visa (we'd been in Vietnam for five days in between).

Thanks to everyone in this group who helped with advice and good luck to everyone trying to get their visas wherever you are.

Hello! My husband, infant son and I are applying for a 60 day tourist visa via the E Visa website. We are hoping to apply as a family (is this possible?), mainly due to the financial proof as most things are in my husband's name and the infant obviously doesn't have a bank account, etc. I'm a bit at a loss on how to go about this without being rejected! Any tips? Thank you!
