Do my children need to show 500,000 baht each for the DTV visa application in Thailand?

My husband & I moved

BKK last summer from California. I have a DTV as a remote worker & he is on a guardianship visa as we put both kids in an international school (something to consider might be necessary, esp with older kids). With the DTV, I am not required to hold any money (on a DTV you cannot open a bank account in Thailand ). My husband was required to hold 500k in a bank account & then after 3 months, his official guardianship visa was solidified.

Double check your info about the DTV as a digital nomad. Maybe something has changed, but I haven’t heard any monetary requirements…

Hi Navid, we are here on a dtv remote. I applied for my husband, son and myself. As my husband has a company abroad he was the one applying. When we received the visa for him I applied for my son and myself as dependents with a sponsorship letters for both of us. I believe that you can also apply as a family all together, but we don't have experience how to do that. Only 500.000 baht or equivalent was necessary. We applied in Portugal. We are in Thailand since October last year.

That completely depends on which embassy you are applying through. They each set their own requirements. Generally children don't need it, but some embassies will require it.

You should be able to supply sponsorship letters for the kids so just 2 x 500k baht
