I wish to retire to Thailand later this year. From UK, I’ll be depositing 800,000 in Bangkok Bank. My gf says they told her I just need my proof of accommodation (TM30?). Then I wait 2 months with proof of funds before applying for the year extension.

Does this sound like a plan ?

Please be nice. Some of you guys can be big meanies 😂😂😂

ADVICE PLEASE: For a 90 day Non-O Visa-holder who’s now in Thailand and on the 90 day clock, there’s so many disparate puzzle pieces to accrue bf applying for “1 Year Extension of Visa.” For example: There’s setting up a Bank account & Transferring 800k Tbt, Getting local Phone service, finding a permanent address with lease and TM30…. PLEASE SHARE from your experience what is the most logical order to tackle the tasks above, AND don’t hesitate to list the many I haven’t even thought of in this moment. Thank god this FB Group exists. It is a gift to newcomers!

Hello. I am currently in Thailand on Non Immigrant O multi entry obtained from Savannakhet. Is it possible to obtain 1 year extension of stay based on married to a Thai national when my visa expires? Or, do I have to be in Thailand on some other type of visa in order to apply for this extension?

I have used the search function and cannot find any info on this question: When one is on a 1-year extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai wife, and the wife dies. What happens to the extension? Does the widower have to report to immigration immediately? Does the extension of stay remain valid until the end date stamped in the passport, which would give the widower time to change the reason from “married” to “retirement” or such, OR will it become invalid on the day of the demise of the wife?

Hi. Just had my non-b approved. My school is going through the process of applying for the ministry of education requirements and will then apply for my 12 month work visa. This is happening while I am in Thailand (samui) and we are all aware that this is a difficult way to proceed but for various reasons it's our best option. Just wondering what the renewal window is like? Say I get my visa in July, can I re-apply next year in April or may, incase I am out of the country when my visa expires?

Hello,

I would like to say I have asked this question in the past, and I apologise again for asking, but emergency plans have kicked in.

I arrived here on a 90 day visa based on marriage. Non O. It ceases on the 22nd March 2022.

I want to apply for the 1yr extension of stay, in which I have done once before but forgot the process.

How soon can I apply for the extension of stay. Docs required and I deposit 40k per month.

Please can you assist me again, as you have done so diligently in the past.

I must again apologise as I was returning to my home country but since things have changed, I think I'm in a hurry.

Kind regards

Hello everyone. My inquiry is about the requirements and process for the 1 year extension of stay application (based on retirement). I hold a US passport and am currently in Bangkok on a 90 day non-o Visa based on retirement. The stamp was obtained on 9-Nov-2021 (from CW), and expires 6-Feb-2022. I obtained the 90 day non-o Visa stamp using the banked funds method (e.g., 800,000 baht transferred from my US bank account into my Bangkok Bank account on 21-Oct-2021), and completed the TM30 using my current Bangkok address. I also now have a new 1 year lease agreement beginning 15-Jan-2022 for a condo (at a new address) in Bangkok. In addition, I would like to apply for my multi-entry permit at the same time I apply you my 1 year extension of stay.

What I want to better understand are next steps and preparation, and what can I expect when going to CW to apply for my 1 year extension of stay (i.e., when should I apply, what do I need to have in hand; is there a waiting period, etc.). Thank you in advance.

Hello, I'm pretty sure this info is somewhere in the posts on the group but the search function seems quite unhelpful. If there is a recent post with this info, please kindly refer me to it :)

My first 1-Year Extension of Stay Based on Marriage will expire on October 31 and I have to go to Bangkok Immigration at Chaeng Watthana to apply for a new extension. I was wondering if you could point me to the list of all required documents at this time, because I don't even trust that the info is up to date on their website.

I have the 400,000 THB in a bank account, untouched since the first extension. Just need to update the bank book in the morning and get a certification letter from the Bank, but would be grateful for an exhaustive list of all that is required. I think I need to get a fresh copy of the Kor Ror 2 (wedding paper) from the district office as well, but not sure how long the document is valid once you get the new copy.

Thanks in advance for all your kind help!
