Hello. I am currently in Thailand on Non Immigrant O multi entry obtained from Savannakhet. Is it possible to obtain 1 year extension of stay based on married to a Thai national when my visa expires? Or, do I have to be in Thailand on some other type of visa in order to apply for this extension?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the possibility of extending their Non Immigrant O multi-entry visa for one year due to marriage to a Thai national. Comments confirm that as long as the requirements for the extension based on marriage are met, the extension can be applied for without the need for a different visa. It is advisable to check with the local immigration office for the latest requirements.

as long as you meet the requirement for 1-year extension based on being married to a Thai, you can apply for it no problem. you are applying for an extension for the same reason as your current visa, no need to get another visa. go to your local immigration office to get THEIR latest handout of requirements in advance.
