Hello,

I would like to say I have asked this question in the past, and I apologise again for asking, but emergency plans have kicked in.

I arrived here on a 90 day visa based on marriage. Non O. It ceases on the 22nd March 2022.

I want to apply for the 1yr extension of stay, in which I have done once before but forgot the process.

How soon can I apply for the extension of stay. Docs required and I deposit 40k per month.

Please can you assist me again, as you have done so diligently in the past.

I must again apologise as I was returning to my home country but since things have changed, I think I'm in a hurry.

Kind regards

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can apply for a 1-year extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai national anytime within the last 30 days of your current visa. Since your current visa expires on 22nd March 2022, you can submit your application now. Required documents typically include proof of income (40,000 THB monthly deposit or equivalent), marriage certification, and possibly a bank letter along with transaction records. It's recommended to visit your local immigration office for the most current requirements and to check if an appointment is necessary.

, you can book online if your local immigration office provides, book from the immigration office website ("online service" from Top Menu, go to the lower part, then click "online appointment" icon). Or you can walk in.

At most immigration offices you can apply for a 1-year extension when you have 30days or less remaining with your current stamp. So you should be able to apply for it anytime now. Go to your local immigration office to get the latest handout of requirements for a 1-year extension, while you prepare to get a Bank letter and whole year transaction, marriage certification, etc.

check with your IO and bank branch. How long it would take depends on your branch. Some do within a day, or some need more days.

Check with your bank about the date of the transaction. it wouldn't be an application submitting date to the bank branch in most cases.

Hello Ellie, you mention date of transaction. It wouldn't be an application date to the bank in most cases. Just a little unsure whst this means sorry.

, For example, you go to a branch on the 15th to apply for a transaction record for a whole year. They say it would take 1 week, come back on the 22nd. The date of your transaction report would be rarely 15th, but between 16th-22nd, or on 22nd. You need to check it with your branch.

right. Most bank braches needs a few (to several) days to issue the whole year transaction. Check how old days of your bank documents your immigration office accepts. Some up to 7days, some just a few days.

Normally you can apply for the 1 year Extension of Stay based on marriage with a Thai National during the last 30 days of your current stay.

If you like to use the monthly income it must be:

OR 40.000 Thb as a foreign deposit into a Thai bank account on your name for at least 12 months prior application date

OR 40.000 Thb income from working inside Thailand shown with payments of SSO and TAX from you and Thai staff from the last 3 months, also your work permit is needed.
