Hi,

If I apply for a 60 day tourist visa beforehand, but ends up not being sorted in time, is it still feasible to just enter on a 30 day (no visa required) and just +30 day at immigration at BKK on arrival, or sort an immigration office a few days later after arriving? I have onward travel (by air) booked around the 45 day mark.

I had an issue on the Thai embassy website (whilst trying to sort the 60 day online from the UK) where it was 'payment processing' for ages (and no update to say what the issue was), but I found (guessed)it might be due to the 'billing address' that couldn't be changed on their worldpay page (it was set to their location and I couldn't change it to my own) - super frustrating!

I reapplied from scratch again once I realised this error many days later having left it to see what would happen - but aware that it may now just not be processed in time.

Thanks

Morning all,

I'd appreciate if someone would confirm the current Chiang mai immigration that assists with the issuance of Embassy letter supported extensions of stay. Would it be Promenada mail or the airport office? TIA

Hi. Hope everyone is coping well and thanks for the updates these last few months.

Entered on a 30 day exempt in March with the intention of getting married, but couldn’t do that until recently because of obvious reasons. Went to Muang Thong Thani yesterday to try and get the 60 day visiting family extension (in which time I plan to season financial funds) but couldn’t as I didn’t have an Embassy letter.

I was under the impression the letters were required for 30 day extensions, but perhaps that was my mistake and it’s now all extensions.

I’ve requested the embassy letter then plan to book an appointment and return to Muang Thong Thani next week to start the process again. IYO, does that sound like the correct plan of action for myself right now? Or would I be better going to a different immigration office for the 60 day extension?

Thanks so much

Hi all, so I’ve a similar question before but a bit unsure now with the new exception that was passed.

My initial 30 day visa on arrival expires April 15

(Now I know I don’t have to go to the immigration until further notice)

However I could have a baby any day now (due date 4 weeks) I have a letter from my doctor to excuse travel ...

I’m still able to go to an immigration point to apply for that? (I’ve tried calling my closest but no answer)

Thanks 🙏🏼

Hi,

I’m currently in Chiang Mai on an extended 30 day visa exempt stamp which is valid until the 18th of Sept. I’m planning on leaving Thailand at the end of Oct. Would I be OK going to Mae Sai and obtaining another visa exempt entry? I have done this border cross once this year already. If so, what proofs will be required (if any) this time?

Visa History (UK Passport holder)

Feb - May - SETV + Extension

May - July - 30 Day Exempt + Extension (Mae Sai)

July - Sept - 30 Day Exempt + Extension (Issued at BKK by Air)

Thanks in advance.
