TLDR : Answer Summary
There is no official limit on how many times one can enter Thailand on a 30-day visa exemption through air entry. However, for land entry, you are generally allowed two entries per calendar year. The free stamp you receive for 30 days does not qualify as a visa but rather a visa exemption.

I have done up to 9 in a year. Not a problem with a ticket out,

there is no such thing as a 30 day VISA ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

If you are talking about a 30 day visa exempt entry <- the free stamp you get for 30 days if you arrive here without a visa you can get TWO of them by land in a calendar year. There is no official rule about how many you can get by air entry
