I entered Thailand on a 30 day visa exemption at the beginning of March. I decided to apply for an Ed visa and was going to get a 30 day extension at immigration to allow time for the Ed visa process. But after receiving the letter from the MOE you have to go to immigration with at least 15 days left on your visa exemption, and for me that would probably fall on Songkran and once immigration reopens I wouldn’t have 15 days remaining. The school suggested I do a land border run at the beginning of April to get a new 30 day visa exemption, then start the Ed visa application, then get a 30 day extension at immigration until my Ed visa is granted. I’m not so worried about the land border run because it would be my first one ever. My question is whether immigration will give me a 30 day extension if they see two consecutive visa exempt entries. My only other entry was in September 2023 on a 60 day tourist visa which I extended once, then I left the country for 3 months to travel Vietnam. How likely am I to be denied the extension after doing a land border run for a second visa exemption?
