Canadian here

We are looking to stay in Thailand for 4 months this year

Last year we got a 60 day tourist visa and then got a 30 day extension so we could stay for 3 months.

Can we do this then go to Langkawi and come back and have 30 more days to make it 4 months? Or is there a better way

I entered Thailand on a 30 day visa exemption at the beginning of March. I decided to apply for an Ed visa and was going to get a 30 day extension at immigration to allow time for the Ed visa process. But after receiving the letter from the MOE you have to go to immigration with at least 15 days left on your visa exemption, and for me that would probably fall on Songkran and once immigration reopens I wouldn’t have 15 days remaining. The school suggested I do a land border run at the beginning of April to get a new 30 day visa exemption, then start the Ed visa application, then get a 30 day extension at immigration until my Ed visa is granted. I’m not so worried about the land border run because it would be my first one ever. My question is whether immigration will give me a 30 day extension if they see two consecutive visa exempt entries. My only other entry was in September 2023 on a 60 day tourist visa which I extended once, then I left the country for 3 months to travel Vietnam. How likely am I to be denied the extension after doing a land border run for a second visa exemption?

Hey,

US citizen here. I did a border run to Cambodia in May 2023 and Oct 2023 but now I have a new passport.

Can I do a land run via bus or train for a 60 day visa to savannakhet?

hello! Question about border runs - my 6 month Muay Thai visa is coming to an end on March 15th - before the Muay Thai visa in 2023 i had flown in from USA, and did extensions and 2 border runs -

My question is, can i do a border run now after my Muay Thai education visa ends?

Update - a land based border run service said i will have no issues. Have to pay extra 1k bhat for IO to “cut” my ED visa at the border

Hi there,

I had a SETV and did two land border runs on October and December. Considering we just entered a new calendar year, would we be allowed a new land border run although i already did two in 2023?

I am scheduled to do a land border run with a visa service at 7am tomorrow, from CM to Laos... I just realized I have already done 2 land border runs!

Is this a strict rule now? Will they stop me from re-entering Thailand?

I assume the only other option is to fly out of the country, get a visa processed at a Thai embassy and come back?

I got a 45 day tourist visa and I extended it, my extension expires on May 2nd.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated. 🙏

ATTENTION MEMBER'S

As a reminder ....

Myanmar/Thailand land border crossings are CLOSED to foreigners. It's NOT possible to do a LAND BORDER RUN into Myanmar.

LAOS, CAMBODIA and MALAYSIA land borders are OPEN. Suggest you use Google search.

Update on Mae Sai border run. Just did it today and it was a breeze. 2nd one. Back to back. No remarks or anything. As long as you haven’t done two land border runs in 2019 already, you should be fine.

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm finding conflicting information.

I had an METV (Australian Passport) and I need to leave the country by the 8th of October. I have already extended my last entry on this visa by 30 days and cannot extend it any further. I did 2 land border runs with this visa. The visa is now finished.

My understanding is that these land crossings do not count towards the 2 land entries into Thailand permitted each year.

My question is, can I leave at Mae Sai land crossing, and reenter thailand without a visa, and get another 30 days in the country as a visa exemption?

Thanks in advance :)
