I’m sorry if this question has been asked many times….. I can’t find my answer. Apologies.
I fly back to Bangkok tomorrow 24th. Uk citizen my 60 day visa free runs out 8th of February. Could some one help and tell me where name of building, location I have to go to to get 30 day extension.
I believe I need….. money, yes of course
Pass port photos.
Complete a form whilst I’m there.
Proof of residence. Will my booking.com confirmation be enough. I’m staying in regular modest hotels I tend to stay a week? Will a booking.com booking form say for seven days be ok?
Many many thanks for any help.
Thanks and regards to all.
PS
Correction. Poor choice of words moreover poor punctuation in the above. Apologies. I’m already in Thailand. As it happens in airport as I type flying to Bangkok. I’m here VISA FREE 60 days, i want to extend my stay by thirty days. Apologies for any confusion I may have caused, and any waste of time for people who have already been kind enough to help.
Regards to all.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is returning to Bangkok and is seeking information on where to apply for a 30-day extension of their 60-day visa exemption. Several commenters suggested going to the Immigration Office located on the 3rd floor of IT Square in Laksi, Bangkok. They highlighted the need for specific documents such as passport photos, proof of residence (suggesting a hotel booking confirmation may suffice), and the correct terminology to use when describing their visa status to avoid confusion.
Clearly not, I’ve never said it is. You know what? I just thought I’d “politely” from people on seemingly the right page who…… just be able to help. What do I then do? I try to remember to thank all those who offer help.
You know….. old school politenes? Go to others who may be able to help you. Nicley, politely raise my questions. Goes without saying (but will) throw in a good few, please and thank you’s. Silly me, old school but that’s how I was bought up long before the word Google existed.
You have not got a 60 day visa ,you have a 60 day visa exemption you want to extend by 30 days ,just so you know what to ask for you will confuse immigration if you say you have a 60 day visa.
Tony Brewin you still haven't learnt you have not got a 60 day visa you a 60 exemption stamp it is not a visa in any shape or form, there is a 60 day tourist visa that needs to be applied for before leaving your country ,you have a 60 day exemption ,its easy to be confused especially if you are speaking English to a Thai.
I am not trying to be bombastic but if you use the correct terminology it might avoid confusion for you and the immigration officers.
AtrustworthyJaguar I know that but immigration will be listening for the word exemption not free its simple things like this that can become confusing.
Are you flying back into Bangkok 24th ? You are not in Thailand now ? You would automatically get a new 60day visa exempt. Can someone more knowledgeable confirm on this ?
Didn’t choose my words correctly in first place. Pleased to say I’m here already. I’m here 60 day visa free. I want to be allowed an extra 30 days. Think I’ve got it now. Thank you.
Forgive my stupidness….. what is a TM30. Apologies for my ignorance. I believe it’s proof of residency? Hotel notifying authorities I’m there. Will every hotel be able to provide this document?
TM30 is not the same thing as proof of residence, it just shows that the person responsible for where you stay has registered you as staying there. But you need a copy of the receipt of that registration when interacting with immigration
Tony Brewin It is proof of a foreigner staying at an address and the hotel or landlord are required to complete one by law but many probably don't bother for short term bookings, mention at check in that you need one
