Can I extend a 60-day visa exemption stamp for an additional 30 days in Thailand?
I just read on the Thai immigration website that you cannot get a 30 day extension on a 60 day visa exemption stamp, it cannot exceed 30 days is this correct?
Criteria for Consideration
1. The alien must have been granted a Tourist Visa or visa exemption for not exceeding 30 days on tourism purpose according to the Notification of the Ministry of Interior or visa exemption for ordinary passports for not exceeding 30 days in accordance with international agreements, clause no.13 (1) of the Ministerial Regulations prescribing the Criteria, Procedures and Conditions for Inspection, Visa Exemption and Changing the Type of Visa B.E.2545

That post says your entry stamp (at that time) was 30 days maximum, it had nothing to do with extensions

You still get 60 if you arrive before it changes,it will change once it has been published in the Royal Gazette then it takes 15 days to come into force.
You can still extend 30+30 or the cheaper better options is to apply for a 60 tourist visas in your own country.

That's from 2002, the 60 day visa exemption didn't even start until July 2024

OPMy visa exemption doesn't expire until 24th June, I'm not sure if that rule will still be in place by then

Gary Roberts What rule? They are not changing anything for an extension of stay for a normal visa exemption. The only existing restriction is entering by land, and then applying for an extension of stay. This will likely be limited to 1.
