Hey everyone. I'm in Thailand on a DTV and I was wondering what the process is of buying a motorcycle. I've been renting for a few months, but planning on buying one for myself. Do I need a resident certificate? Insurance? Registration? I've seen a lot of mentions of "green book" too. Anything I should be vary or mindful of?
Thank you krub 🙏
A couple days ago a friend of mine took a 15 hour bus from Pattaya to Vientiane, Laos in order to exit the country in an attempt to re-enter for his third VISA exempt entry in a relatively short time and was denied the ability to EXIT Thailand at Nong Khai, into Laos after the Thai Immigration official saw his passport. He had a heart procedure scheduled in Thailand in a few weeks and he thought if he showed his medical paperwork they would allow him back into Thailand one last time. However, they sent him away and he had to return to Pattaya with two days left before he will be an overstay. What happens next I don't know. Just thought this info might be helpful.
This is my first entry into Thailand using a DTV visa. I plan to stay in Thailand for 60 days and then travel to another country for a week. Since I won't be staying in Thailand for more than 90 days, I don't need to submit a TM47 (90-day report). Even in this case, do I still need to obtain a TM30 from my accommodation? Or, since I don't need a TM47, I don't need a TM30 either?
Hey, quick question regarding the DTV Digital Nomad Visa application in Sri Lanka.
I’ll be in the country for one month on vacation before moving on to Thailand. (The plan so far)
All documents are prepared - does anyone have experience with the DTV process in Sri Lanka as a German passport holder or in general?
Can someone suggest an agency in Phuket that was successful 🙏 thanks
A foreign tourist has warned travellers after being denied entry at Thailand’s Don Mueang Airport for insufficient funds. Immigration officers enforced the regulation requiring visitors to prove they possess at least 20,000 baht upon arrival.
The traveller claimed she was unaware of the rule and was refused permission to withdraw cash from an ATM. She expressed frustration at the lack of clear guidance and was told to attempt entry through a different airport.
Thai authorities confirm that proof of financial means is a mandatory requirement, though enforcement remains discretionary. Tourists are advised to ensure they carry adequate funds or documentation to prevent border issues.
Hello everyone. My partner is British, he’s 73 years old. He’s entered Thailand on 15 November by Multiple tourist visa apply in Uk which will expire on 14 January. He would like to live in Thailand for 6 months.
Question!
Should he extend tourist visa on 10 January? So he can live 1 month and Then he fly to Singapore for 7 days on 14 February. He fly back to Thailand. So he can stay in Thailand 60 days?.
Or on 10 January he fly to Singapore and apply for non o visa then fly back to Thailand so he can stay 90 days?.
He booked the flight back to uk on 15 May 2026.
He got 2 strokes which is difficult for him to walk.
Many thanks.
Is there an approximate approval time for Non O Marriage Visa Extension?
Hi Everyone,
I’m in the process of applying for my first Non O Marriage Visa extension
I took all the documents with my wife on Nov 27th to Phuket Town Immigration and they were accepted and I got a stamp to Jan 22nd 2026 in my passport.
The IO came to our house on Nov 29th and his colleague took photos of us in and around our house.
I was wondering if there was an approximate rough time for how long approval takes once it’s under processing?
Thanks in advance 🙏
Hi all
Just an update on a dtv app as the info on these forums was very helpful. It is annoying people don’t use the search function almost every question has been asked and answered!
Submitted DTV to London on 18th November
Workcation
App form
Letter from work saying I could work remotely
Portfolio of what I do and cv
Bank statement (was only current transactions) showing 500,000 bht (equivalent) going in the week before.
Cover letter
Company registration
4 days later request for further info
Bank statement showing full name and address (current transactions not ok)
Pay slips
Bank acc showing monthly income for 3 months
I then sent one account showing the 500,000 bht and a second account showing my wages in plus other money coming in.
Also my pay slips showing a healthy wage
I requested interim statements so all bank statements had my name and address
Approved yesterday
In short I wasn’t asked for flights accommodation or for the money to be seasoned.
I do think if you show you can support yourself and will be spending money that is half the battle.
Good luck all
I have my 2nd 90-day Check-in that is due today (12/09/2025). I 1st applied online 12/02 and it was rejected 12/03 without a reason. I assumed the address was not correct, so I applied again on 12/04 but as of this morning (12/09) the status is still "Pending" Should I just physically go to Immigration? Since the second application is still "Pending" Or could that mean that it might be in the process of being approved? Also, am I correct that I have 7 days after the "due" date to update? Thanks in advance!!
