UPDATED WITH PICTURE OF VISA.

NON-O Visa (Thai child)

Here's my experience with HCMC Thai embassy.

Made an appointment online for today..showed up with Copy of my daughters birth certificate, ID card & house registration book

I didn't print anything to do with financial statements as it wasn't very clear what they wanted as all it says on the website is "2.5. Applicant’s financial statement of adequate finance is required." They wanted 6 months bank statements and a balance of 20k in any bank/currency.

Showed 6 months statements from Krungsri download from app and printed and a print out of current balance of Lloyd's UK bank and paid the 200USD visa fee.

Received my wee slip to pick up the 12 month multiple entry non-o on Tuesday..copy shop just round the corner so quick and easy if needing extra paperwork printed out.

Has anyone applied for DTV with their finances being VA 100% P&T? I would imagine they would approve the application, but I wanted to reach out and see if anyone had personal experience with it.

It was good news and fair news in Savannakhet applying for a soft dtv visa today.

My marriage visa from there 15 months ago expired just in time to get a new dtv visa. Lucky me.

So I booked a medical appointment for a general medical evaluation at a Thai hospital in September. Then I downloaded balance sheets from my brokerage firm in the US well in excess of the minimum required.

It all went great until I got to the window.

The grilling about the financials was intense and I had to return in early afternoon with my tablet and two months of brokerage print outs.

They finally were convinced I was ok and asked if I wanted 3 months or one year like previously.

I was most confused and so were they.

They thought I wanted to renew the old marriage visa. I wanted the five year dtv for medical treatment.

They then deemed my medical appointment inadequate since it mentioned no specific condition. I pleaded that I was yet to learn of my infirmities until the medical exam.

Nope, no good, so if you go that medical route have a pre existing condition.

No dtv for me!

BUT they did sell me a new 12 month multi entry marriage visa for 5,000 baht ,no questions asked, on the basis of my brokerage statements.

No marriage certificate or money in a Thai bank.

So I didn't get what I wanted but still walk away with a year visa. Just 90 day reentries instead of 180.

It could be worse.

Hey guys!

How hard is it to get a single-entry tourist visa in Jakarta? I'm wondering whether it's worth trying there, because I have a lot of Thai tourist visas in my passport, and somewhere I noticed that it's a difficult place for people like me. ;) If not there, what country do you recommend? In Malaysia, I took visas in KL and Kota Bharu. Is Singapore ok? Maybe Penang in Malaysia?

Thx for help! :)

Just got my 60 day visa at the Royal Thai Consulate in Vientiane Laos. Heading back to Thailand tomorrow. It was very easy.

1. Must schedule an appt online

2. Make copies of all need documents( see Embassy website)Takes 3 days including submission day.

After scheduling appt, you get a confirmation email with your que number and time frame (although first come first serve for that time frame)There were around 50 people, took less then an hour. I printed all of my documents and photos in Thailand, (except need to print passport Laos pages in Laos),but there are plenty of printers outside the Consulate. Consulate Staff were very nice, as were all the people we encountered in Laos. ❤️

Stayed at a brand new hotel “NAGA FRONTIER SUITE HOTEL “ near Parkson Mall. The hotel and staff were beautiful. Great breakfast included. Nice Night Market outside the Mall, Mall is new and huge. Plenty of food and supermarket. It all went very easy.

Hello, i just got Denied to Entry in BKK.

i was in Thailand, on a Non-Imm ED Visa with a lot of Covid stamps almost 2,5 years. on the 25.3.22 i fly to Cambodia, i apply for a new Tourist e-Visa , and made Thai Pass and everything. I had a Paper from my School, that proves, i came back on Tourist, just for can change to my new ED-Visa inside of Thailand to learn Thai. However they did not let me Enter, because they said i stay in Thailand for too long. And put me in the Airport Prison for 2 days, and today i had to fly back to Cambodia. What i can do now, to come back to Thailand. Any Suggestions ? TIA

On Monday, I attempted to get a Covid extension at Chiang Mai Immigration. My current Non-Imm visa was set to expire for today.

I had assumed all my paperwork was in order after passing the volunteer checking it over.

At the first counter inside I handed over my paperwork. The IO thumbed through it and then opened my passport. She declined my application because I needed to get my current visa canceled.

I cannot cancel my visa on my own. I needed a letter of cancelation from the sponsoring foundation. Unfortunately, they had closed and this was not possible.

My only other option was to use an agency to get my visa canceled in order to proceed with the covid extension.

Enter Thai Visa Advisor. Aom and her team were able to get me taken care of right away. We spoke on Tuesday afternoon and met Wednesday morning.

They are professional, friendly, and transparent with excellent and responsive communication.

If you can get something done by yourself, do it, but don't let your stubbornness prevent you from seeking assistance when necessary.
