Has anyone had experience with the Non-Immigrant O visa for Thailand?

I have two questions:

1. Has it ever happened to someone that accompanying children (under 18 years old) were not allowed to enter Thailand or were rejected, even though a parent held a Non-Immigrant O visa?

I’d really appreciate any insights or experiences ,thank you!

Just got approved for my DTV visa for soft power (cooking school) through the Los Angeles consulate in UNDER AN HOUR (~45 minutes)!!!!

I was so stressed while doing the application because I was worried about making a stupid mistake that would get my application rejected instantly. I almost fell out of my chair when I saw the first and only status update was to approved.

If you are trying to get a DTV through the LA embassy now seems to be a good time because they seem to be moving fast!

Thank you for all advices given here.

My experience applying Non Immi O based on marriage thru e-Visa Thai Embassy Kuala Lumpur.

27th July - Submitted application

28th July - Thailand public holiday

29th July - Requested additional document, full pages of my passport cramp into PDF for less than 3MB

30th July - Pending document check

31st July - 4pm+- Pending approval

31st July - 5.53pm Approved

I’m actually quite surprised on fast approval, despite some people telling that Thai Embassy Kuala Lumpur is one of the hardest place for e-Visa applications

Again, millions of thanks for the advices and support given in here appreciate that 🙏🏻

Hello,

Later this month, I plan to apply for the Thailand remote work visa (Destination Thailand Visa - DTV) in Jakarta, Indonesia. However, I currently hold a 6-month TR visa issued by the Thai Embassy in Tokyo Japan, which expires on July 12. My current stay as a tourist in Thailand will end on June 27 (I've already extended by 30 days). Therefore, it seems I'll need to unnecessarily stay in Indonesia for 16 days, waiting for my TR visa to expire before applying for the DTV.

I know you might say to me to come out and back to Thailand and gain another 60 days to stay in Thailand, but I would like to obtain a DTV as soon as possible.

I've noticed several comments in this group—some mention successfully applying for the DTV before their existing visa expired, while others advise waiting until the current visa has fully expired. Is it indeed safe and possible to apply for the DTV before my TR visa expires?

If anyone has successfully or unsuccessfully applied for the DTV while their TR or Education visas were still valid, please share your experience. Your insights would be greatly appreciated😀

Hello, all!

Does anyone have recent experience applying for DTV through the Los Angeles, CA Thai embassy? I am wondering if someone could share their experience and what the timeline looked like for you.

For context, I applied for DTV on March 30, 2025, received a request for additional documentation on April 8th and submitted the docs on April 9th. Since then, I have not heard back at all. I understand Songkran occurred in the middle of the month and immigration offices were likely closed, which could have slowed the progress of my application. I am scheduled to depart for Thailand this week and am growing concerned that I will not receive a response before my flight.

Lastly, is it likely that in the event of rejection, that my application's status would also get updated? It's difficult to plan accordingly when there is zero response, positive or negative.

Thanks for everyone's time in reading and responding. Have a great day, all!

Hi everyone! 👋

Excellent news: I got my DTV visa yesterday through Muay Thai School! 🥳

tigereyemma.com/

I just wanted to thank you for all the topics and advice available in this group. It's super helpful! 🙏

I went through a French agency based in Paris and Thailand to be sure not to forget anything, and also, at a really affordable price! For French people who are a bit stressed, I recommend them: visathailande.fr/

As I live in Bali, they applied at the embassy in Jakarta. Excluding the weekend, it only took 4 days! 🚀

Here are the documents I provided:

* Passport (valid for 6 months from the departure date)

* High-quality photo of your last entry stamp in Indonesia

* ID photos (less than 6 months old, taken with the smartphone ID app)

* Rental agreement + my Indonesian visa (in Bali for me)

* Bank statements (I provided 6 months, and I only had the 500,000 baht for about a week, no problem)

* Letter from the Muay Thai school (which takes care of everything).

Good luck to everyone and have a good day! 😊
