Retiring to Thailand from UK mid October maybe 19th. I have the 800k in Uk ready to transfer once I get a Thai account. No thai bank account yet, most likely to go K bank Roi Et. I have yellow book, Thai id. Driving licence ect. Confused. Either go, none immigrant O or OA? Based on retirement. I've filled both applications in but not submitted yet. Getting conflicting info on which is best. Anyone gone on either of these recently?

If OA, what return date would you enter on the application?

Hello,

Has anyone with a DTV heard back from Bangkok Bank after having their account frozen last week? They told me that it would be unblocked by Friday or Monday, or that I would at least hear back from them. The only change to my app is that there is no longer that notification of going to the bank to submit documents within 30 days.

Thanks

Good day

Im at the start of preparing my application for the DTV and I have a few things I would like clarifying if anyone can?

1) I understand that the DTV costs 10,000 baht and that is the only fee I pay regarding the visa itself and that is for 5 years (please correct me if Im wrong)

2) I also understand that if I choose to leave the country when my renewal is due, I avoid immigration and the fee that comes with extending the stay?

If this is the case, is the renewal due every 6 months?

3) If for example, I choose the cooking course, am I required to attend for the first 6 months only? I have a genuine interest in learning cooking anyway so this would be my choice rather than Muay Thai which I have zero interest in

4) Has anyine completed a cooking course that could advise me the approximate cost of the course and at the same time, possibly recommend a course

The way I am seeing things in my minds eye is that subject to submitting a successful application, I arrive in Thailand stamped with the DTV for 6 months where I attend classes for that duration. Once the 6 months is up, I can leave Thailand and return for a fresh uninterrupted 6 months and continue this for the 5 years WITHOUT the obligation to continue with the classes, as 5 years of cooking would lead me to be a Michelen star chef!! ๐Ÿ˜

I am over 50 and qualify for the retirement visa but I dont feel this is the best choice for me right now. I will look at the retirement visa if and when I feel like I am going to put serious roots down

Im currently in the UK and will be applying form here. Is everything done online or will I be asked to attend a Thai consulate here in England

After some insight in regard to the TDAC. I have an active DTV visa, which itโ€™s my first six months into it so have gone to Bali to see some friends for a few days and return.

What am I supposed to put down for these questions? Purpose of travel? I am returning home.. I live in Phuket.. Date of departure and flight number? I donโ€™t know. Once again I am returning to my home in Phuket lol.

I believe a DTV Visa is for 5 years. But do I have to leave Thailand every 6 months? Or is it possible to re-stamp and stay permanently for the 5 years?

Just considering options comparing to a marriage visa which im planning shortly.

Hello Group,

I would like to get a retirement visa. I was hoping that I could deposit the required 800,000 baht into my BB and come to Chiang Mai 3 months later on 60 day standard stay for UK passports. My question is would 60 days be sufficient time to get a retirement visa and am I likely to run into any problems, and what information/documents would I need to bring with me - appreciate any guidance thanks.
