TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the timeline for arranging a multi-entry visa while on a Non-O retirement visa in Thailand. It was clarified in the comments that while a re-entry permit can be obtained, it is valid only until the end of the 90-day initial visa period. Therefore, if travel is necessary within those 90 days, a single re-entry permit is more cost-effective. After securing the one-year extension, a multi-entry permit can be purchased.

Your initial nonO is only 90days it's not feasible to pay for multiple re entry(3800baht) if u really need to travel during your 90days just buy single re-entry (1000baht)....after u get your extensions for 1yr then u buy the multiple re entry which have the same validity as your extension if u need yo travel often

You can get a re-entry permit but it's only going to be valid until the end of your 90 days. You need to be back before that ends so you can apply for the 1-year extension.
