Following up questions about change jobs in thailand:

my husband currently holds a non b visa 1 year extension working for a company in BKK, valids till 18th oct. Me, holdin Non-o related to it. He is trying to change his work to a company in Koh samui as soon as possible. we are dealing with 2 lawyers now ,one in bkk represents the current company, another one in samui ,represents the new company. there is some confusion and confliction, would like to have your advices.

-can he cancel work permit in bangkok, and apply new work permit on the same day in koh samui, to avoid to go out of thailand

-do we both need to cancel our current visa extensions? as bangkok lawyers are asking us to cancel the visas at the same time as cancel the work permit. But lawyers in koh samui ask us not to cancel the visa, only the work permit, due to language barriers , we could not get explainations of this. what should we do? cancel the visa or only cancel the work permit?

-it sounds extremely stressful situatuion for us. if the 2 lawyers can't coordinate their work about "the same day" . what will happen to us? as technically , we will be risking over stay.

-we can consider to go back to France, and apply all over again, but apparently the WP31 in samui require 1 month to obtain, and it can only be applied when the current work permit is cancelled, so we will be facing to stuck in france at least 1 -1.5 months . but would this be a better solution?

thank you in advance if you can share your insights and advices with us.

Seen the top post dies say "DTV visa, I would like some key inf on the DTV visa....

If one has zero interest in opening a Thai bank account, or Thai driver's license, then isn't the DTV visa most attractive.

Good for 5 year's

Have to exit, on or before the 180th day (that's a plus, for those of us liking to travel)

DIY can be done from 10k baht to 16k baht (depending on where ones applying from, eg. home country or some SE Asia country outside of Thailand)

Given the few line items above, what is the drawback on the DTV visa??

Note.

I'm not interested in hearing from agent's, as they just want the big coin, to process some retirement, or educational or something else ... that they can charge a ton of coin for.

Only interested in hearing from those that applied, received and currently using the DTV visa.

Thanks you

Hi everyone,

I have a question for those who applied through the French Embassy in Paris.

What did you write in the "place of issue" field of your passport?

I know this has been debated for months. Some people recommend writing exactly what’s printed on the passport, but I’ve also heard of applications being denied for that and advised instead to write the country name. What’s the right approach? The embassy is unreachable by phone and doesn’t respond to emails.

Thanks to anyone who knows!

I had a meeting with my company directors last night.

As i am applying for Type O visa in London early October to fully emigrate under a 12 month extension based on marriage.

The directors have requested would I be able to continue working for them (fully remote as I do here in the UK) but on a part time basis.

Is this allowable on a marriage visa?

All payments would not be remitted into Thailand as I have enough savings to live in Thailand.

Well just tried to open an account with Krungthai. Was originally told, by a higher up employee. Bring passport and thats it.

Show up. They now require a pink ID card and a yellow book that you are registered under. Haha what is happening with the banking system here. MIND YOU I already have a business account with them, that was opened in the same branch.

Does anyone know, if a husband and wife are applying for a DTV through a Muay Thai gym, is it enough for one person to apply to the program and then their spouse can apply by being the spouse of the person training at the Muay Thai gym? Or would they both need to buy a membership from the gym to qualify?

Hey guys, I need some advice on a dual passport issue.

I have Israeli and French passports. Been in Thailand 2 years on a Non-B visa with the Israeli one, now switching to a student visa. The visa office asked me to re-enter with my French passport.

Problem: my flights are already booked like this:

-Chiang Mai → BKK → Vietnam (Israeli)

-Vietnam → BKK (French)

-BKK → Chiang Mai (Israeli) (booked this one long ago thats why its on israeli)

Goal is to enter Thailand on the French passport, but the flights are mixed. Did I mess up?

Since my tickets from Vietnam in on my french one ill need to enter Vietnam with my french one too isnt it?
