Following up questions about change jobs in thailand:
my husband currently holds a non b visa 1 year extension working for a company in BKK, valids till 18th oct. Me, holdin Non-o related to it. He is trying to change his work to a company in Koh samui as soon as possible. we are dealing with 2 lawyers now ,one in bkk represents the current company, another one in samui ,represents the new company. there is some confusion and confliction, would like to have your advices.
-can he cancel work permit in bangkok, and apply new work permit on the same day in koh samui, to avoid to go out of thailand
-do we both need to cancel our current visa extensions? as bangkok lawyers are asking us to cancel the visas at the same time as cancel the work permit. But lawyers in koh samui ask us not to cancel the visa, only the work permit, due to language barriers , we could not get explainations of this. what should we do? cancel the visa or only cancel the work permit?
-it sounds extremely stressful situatuion for us. if the 2 lawyers can't coordinate their work about "the same day" . what will happen to us? as technically , we will be risking over stay.
-we can consider to go back to France, and apply all over again, but apparently the WP31 in samui require 1 month to obtain, and it can only be applied when the current work permit is cancelled, so we will be facing to stuck in france at least 1 -1.5 months . but would this be a better solution?
thank you in advance if you can share your insights and advices with us.
My friend is in country and unable to get back to Pattaya his retirement visa expires on 18/4. Will it be ok for him to do this whenever he returns ?? Or will he run risk of fine for overstay and not be able to apply for another retirement visa. Any help be greatly appreciated.
Got a wrong/ different stamp and not sure what to do next..
I have an Israeli passport. Two months ago I entered Thailand without a visa, and got the 30 days pass. A month after I went to the immigration, and got 30 more days. The plan was to go to Chengdu right after but due to Corona virus and because as many others here I also fell in love with Thailand (😊),I wanted to stay longer. Through this group I learned that the only thing available is one more extension of 7 days.
So today I went to immigration, and filed a form with request for 7 days. Under reasons I wrote "plans changed due to Corona "
Paid 1900 baht, and then got the passport back. When I got home I noticed that instead of getting an extension until February 18, it says March 18!
So now I wonder- is that a random mistake (and if so should I do something about it ), or am I extremely lucky and really got another extra month? Could it be related to the virus ?
EDIT- to those who commented that I should just go with the stamp - but what about their documentation on me in the computer? What if I'll leave Thailand in March and suddenly they will want to charge me for many overstay days- should the stamp alone be enough to avoid that? 🙏
