Hi everyone,

After my father’s passing, my 56-year-old mother wants to move to Thailand to be closer to me. I’m currently living in Thailand on a DTV visa, but she doesn’t have the 800,000 baht required for the retirement visa. Our French embassy still issues income declarations, but they’re solely based on honor without any verification.

If she comes to Thailand without a visa, can we use the French embassy’s income declaration for her initial O visa application? By the end of the first year, she will have the 12 monthly payments of 65,000 baht required for renewal.

Thank you in advance for your advice!

Can someone or visa agency provide recommendations for bilingual schools (EP programme) for two children, aged 11 years old and their Mom with Chinese passports? In Bangkok, preferably near Sathorn area, not international schools with high school fees. Must be able to apply for student visa and dependant visa for the Mom. Thank you in advance!

If I apply to add my 19 year old daughter to my DTV ( yep I realise we both need 20,000 au in our accounts) will her visa remain valid for 5 years or expire when she turns 20? ( we can both meet the other requirement). Thank you

Hi folks. I would like to share that the Thai Embassy in Penang(Malaysia) no longer issue the 90 Days Non-O Visa for Dependant based on spouse's Non-O Retirement Visa. My wife got her 1 Year Retirement Visa in Chiang Mai recently.

Please take note of the new regulation.

Here is a reply from <thaiconsulate.pen@gmail.com> that I received yesterday morning. You may further verify with them if you wish.

Hi. Apologies if this has been discussed, I can’t find the answer by searching…

My son is here on a non-o dependents visa (my husband is British and working here, my son is also British and in school here).

We have recently moved here and going to immigration for the first time on Thursday to process my husbands work permit and our dependant visas.

My son’s passport will need to be renewed in March. Will he then need to process a new visa? Or can it be transferred?

My main question is whether he should get a single or multi entry re entry. We have no plans to leave Thailand before March, and if we do it will definitely not be more than once.

Thank you!

A total novice question here, so please bear with me:

I’m seriously considering moving to Thailand for 12-18 months, beginning in December. I haven’t worked out the visa issue with me and my fiancé yet. I’m American, and she’s from Myanmar. She is currently living in Yangon.

Can someone please offer me good visa strategies to explore? I am 49 (turning 50 in January) and she is 41. I’m not wealthy but I am in a position to financially support her in Thailand. We hope to marry in Thailand in late February.

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experiences.

What should a Dependant Visa holder do if the PRINCIPAL Non-Immigrant "O" visa holder (extension based on age 50 years++) passes away? What is the general process or best to do if the Dependant Visa Holder would wish to remain in Thailand possibly for longer or at least for some time to take care of matters such as funeral etc.?
