Can I enter Thailand on visa-exemption while waiting for my DTV visa approval?

Hi everyone,

I applied for the DTV visa in Frankfurt and completed all requested documents on October 16.

It has now been 25 working days with no update and no way to contact the consulate.

Is it possible to enter Thailand now on visa-exemption and then do a short exit & re-entry once the DTV visa is approved? ChatGPT says it should work, but I want to confirm with real experiences.

Thanks for any help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user has applied for a DTV visa in Frankfurt and has not received any updates in 25 working days. They are considering entering Thailand on a visa-exemption while awaiting their visa approval and are seeking confirmation from others with similar experiences. Some commenters shared that entering Thailand before visa approval is possible, but it comes with risks, such as the potential for application rejection if they are not in the country of application when approved.

What is the current status of your application? The best way to contact an Embassy or Condulate is via Messenger if they have a Facebook page, try that detailing all the relevant information (name, passport number, application reference etc.).

Some people have managed to do just that. Enter prior to an approval and then border bouncers to activate the visa once approved.

However some have had their application rejected because they are no longer in the country of application. That may be because they were called in for and interview or just seen that they were no longer there.

Flip a coin. It might work for you.
