I read a comment that people who got an ED visa in the past are often rejected for DTV.
Is this true? For worcation DTV too?
Any reports from Hanoi embassy rejecting people with ED visas from years ago?
I'm a freelance and meet the DTV requirements but I was on ED visa going to Thai language classes during Covid, and had 2 METVs too, last one 2 years ago.
Wondering if it would be a waste of money and time to apply for DTV.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Concerns have been raised about the potential rejection of Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) applications from individuals who previously held an Education Visa (ED). However, based on shared experiences from various community members, it appears that many applicants with past ED visas have successfully obtained DTV approvals without issues. Several comments highlight successful transitions from ED to DTV, suggesting that prior ED visa holders should not face automatic rejection. A few commenters caution that the application process for freelancers may be more complex but overall, the sentiment leans towards optimism for reapplicants.
Not true in my experience. I still had an ED visa extension when I got my DTV approval, so I cancelled my ED visa when I got back to Thailand after getting the DTV and there were no issues. You should be fine.
