DTV: Remote Worker

I want to Bank in the land of smile to make life easier but there were more frustration than smiles. Yes, there are other method but you may be prone to Scam using hard cash plus there isn't a paper trial.

I live near On Nut and I read the banks in Big C may be more forgiving so I gave it a try and here is my experience.

I tried TTB, SCB, Bangkok Bank

I called TTB at Digital Park which about 1 month ago told me to try head office and they now said no.

I have the following docs and they didn't even ask or take a look at any of my docs. I tried the supposedly magic words "Remote Worker" they don't care. They ask what Visa and the moment they hear DTV. It's a No Can KAA! or You have work permit? No Can KAA!

TM30

1 Year Condo Lease

Employment Contract

Tabian Baan "House Registration" signed by owner

Passport (American)

Phone Number Thai (Data & Phone)

DTV Remote Worker

I'm either going to try the True Money method with 20k limit

or use cash or wait until the whole banking thing cool down.

lmk if you know other method that would make life easier using QR.

Question about Thailand Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) Entry Requirements at the Airport

Hi all,

I was approved for Thailand’s 5-year digital nomad visa back in September 2024 but I haven’t entered the country yet. I plan to go soon and I already have the paper visa approval in hand — it has my photo and personal details (E-Visa).

My question is:

Do I need to present supporting documents again (like bank statements, income proof, insurance, etc.) when I arrive at the airport, even though the visa has already been granted?

It seems unnecessary to bring all the original documents again, but I’ve read mixed info online. Just want to know from others who entered with this visa — what was your experience at immigration? Do you need to show for example, proof of accomodations or bank info? Was anything asked of you?

Thanks in advance!

Hi All, If applying as a digital nomad what documents would be required if I have not incorporated my company yet? Please only respond if you are certain and have been in my shoes. Thanks in advance!

Hi all,

I am currently on 4 months long service leave and almost finished my 60 day tourist visa. I was hoping to do a border run to Krong Poi Pet this coming weekend to re-enter and kick off another 60 days.

I have heard there is some unrest with Thai-Cambodia relations. Has anyone been there in the last few days.? TIA😊

Hey all, sorry I’m posting again but I’m freaking out a little bit.

I’m on a spouse visa extension (husband is a foreigner employed here) and we might seperate.

Assuming he still keeps his extension and I leave without canceling mine (because of lack of corporation from him-can’t get a letter from his employee etc)

Once I come back on my own (later on) on a new visa and ask for extension, will I have any issues other than a fine for not canceling the old one? I don’t mind paying as long as I can stay long term.

I didn’t clarify last time that I might not get any supporting documents from his employers.

Thank you so much. Last post I promise haha

Hey guys! I have a question. I hope it doesn't come across as confusing to you as it is in my head: I placed my dad in VivoCare, a dementia care facility, here in Thailand at the beginning of February. He's an 82 yo Army vet with a full pension and disability. Once at VivoCare, they helped him open up a bank account with Bangkok bank with 800,000 baht that I provided. That month, I started sending 70,000 baht into the bank account via Wise from his US bank account every month, and will continue as long as he's there.

They keep telling me that after his visa (not LTV) gets approved tomorrow at immigration, I must continue to deposit 70,000 baht into his BBK account every month (which I knew), but that I can withdraw the 800,000 baht or spend it on his monthly rent at the facility. That makes me nervous: Can I draw the 800,000 down entirely? Or does at least 400,000 baht need to stay in that account? What about the thing where 800,000 (400,000?) needs to stay in the account 3 months after approval? Or is that a different visa route?

I'm trying to figure out what Visa he's getting. But more importantly, I don't want to draw the money too far down below the 400,000 baht or draw it too soon if it'll mess him up.

Please explain it to me because I keep asking them and they keep saying I can, but his immigration money isn't something I want to play with.

Hello. Just to clarify for my mind. Do I have to renew my retirement visa before the 15th July. Just that it's got a stamp from the last one of 19th June 2024 so I am thinking I must have have a spare month on my last visa that is carried over. All help is much appreciated.
