TLDR : Answer Summary
The Thai consulate in Los Angeles does require federal authentication for a US marriage certificate when applying for a Non-O spouse visa. The authentication process can be lengthy, with federal processing times taking around 10-13 weeks or more. Some applicants have reported waiting for weeks and having to manage travel plans accordingly.

thanks! I only made 2 copies and only 1 in federal apostile stage (I’m afraid the process might take too long so I keep another one with me… I dont know why I did that lol)

It is my understanding that some of the agencies will want to keep the official document so it's a just in case
so I have a chance to get mine back with in three months.

. Had to rebook my flight. Hopefully it’ll arrive so I can get the Thai embassy in LA to authenticate before I leave.

Not sure. I’m doing it for registration of my marriage in Thailand to get the kor ror 22. I assume it’s part of the application process or at least the extension.
