You are risking to loose a 10.000 baht visafee if you go out of the jurisdiction of the Thai Embassy you apply at.

Why don’t you just follow the written instructions?

If you apply in Vietnam be sure to get a lomger visa than the 14days exemption. Because it has been known to be taking some time to be processed and you could run the risk of overstaying to stay there or having to leave and in doing so potentially forfeit the DTV approval

Oh sorry for the misinformation. Last time i visited it was 14days

Stay in the same country you applied in until approved, then you can go wherever you want. Several posts in this group from people who didn't stay in the country of application and then were asked for proof they were still in the county, leading to delays in visa approval.

I had a similar story. I applied in Jakarta, after getting my DTV I flew to Cambodia for one week, and then to Thailand. I had no issues.
