Yeah, I got the gym picked out. They are huge. One day though, it will come time to pay taxes if living there on a DTV visa, so I'm wanting to know the laws how they are meant to be followed. Working remotely while on a fight visa is not allowed. I would not want to end up in the BKK Hilton because I didn't bother following the rules just because others don't. I imaging they came up with this new DTV visa soft power thing specifically to finally address this issue. It makes me think working remotely would be allowed, otherwise going the old fight visa (ED visa) would accomplish the same thing. Redundant.

do they honestly think people could afford to stay for 5 years without working online? I'd think many people who actually didn't care about training have been abusing the fight or ED visas for long term stay while working online. It surprises to hear that you can't work on a soft power DTC. Maybe others can also chip in and tell me what I want to hear, hahaha. I know... best to ask an embassy, but asking online is more entertaining.

Did you have to provide proof of residence? If so, how if you are not living in Canada? Same situation for me. I want to make sure I have all they need before applying.

Garrett, with all serious due respect, I think this is a matter of perspective. I do not maintain a permanent address in my home country while I'm out of country. I spend 7 months a year travelling. I am unable to complete this box/form for the same reason the OP is asking. Asking the community 'why' is not a petty complaint, it is a real desire to understand the reason. The reason may hep him (and people like me who would have benefitting from the answer) choose which home country address to use for the form as it wouldn't be 'ours' but used for certain purposes that we are unaware of. Do I use a family member or do I use a virtual office if it's simply for mail reasons? THis is a real question.. depending on how you choose to read into it.

Where do you find the rules? What if you went for 30 days, extend, border run for another 30, extend. for a total 4 months?

Really? I thought the only requirement was 10K USD now, and must include Covid?

Mu calculator tells me you can invest the money the same with or without paying the 30,000 to someone to fill in some forms for you. 100% don't follow your logic.
