TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether individuals can successfully apply for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand using only a portfolio of work and income, without formal company registration or a work contract. Participants share experiences, indicating that some applicants have managed to secure visas using bank and tax records alongside project lists. There are suggestions of alternative options like registering an American LLC, but there are debates regarding the implications and taxation complexities of using foreign company registrations.

Hi
@Chris ********
, I was wondering if you could tell me what you sent them in your list of projects? I sent a screenshot of a list of websites I’ve built showing the homepage and links to the sites, but they’re asking for more info. I was just wondering what you had sent? Thanks 🙏🏼

Did you have to provide proof of residence? If so, how if you are not living in Canada? Same situation for me. I want to make sure I have all they need before applying.
Chris *********
no proof. they asked for current address and I put our hotel in HCMC. they ask for proposed address and I put our condo in Bangkok. they ask for permanent address and I put where I get my mail in Canada

couldnt you just open an american LLC remotely for pretty cheap

pardon me for asking, but what would be the benefit of a USA company, as opposed to a UK company, for the OP?

It's easy enough to register a company in the UK and many other places too...

not lookied into it much but a delaware co doesnt pay tax on overseas income i think so thats why a lot seem to register there
Gerry ********
@Sam ********
sure, ok, but that doesn't exempt the company owner from tax liability, in the jurisdiction where the owner is resident...

if in thailand it would for any dividends paid from the company as it is overseas income, or if they are under 180 days and non tax resident there or anywhere else

@Sam ********
Sounds great, but it's basically impossible to be a tax resident of nowhere...

Your income is always based somewhere and being absent for more than
*******
days is rarely sufficient to escape tax residency.

I wish I had a way of escaping the grip of the tax department myself, but it's not that simple...

@Gerry *******
exactly lol, american LLC would be much worst than anything

I am wondering if the Thai embassy in London is quite permissive....

@Marco *****
London is more open than other embassies in regards to demonstrating your work.

thanks I was potentially asking as I am going to apply next December
Andi ***********
@Marco *****
Ok, as long as you have the docs to back up your application then you'll be fine.

@Andi **********
thanks I hope so, here on facebook I am coming accross with many denial too...
Andi ***********
@Marco *****
yes, there are some denials but more yes than no for London. Send them an email for any questions you have. They respond fairly quickly
Andi ***********
Yes, there have been posts by such London DTV applicants. Search threads here or in other FB sites like Thai Visa.

As Andi mentioned, there were several posts (some very detailed) about putting together an employment portfolio. It sounds like the more details you provide, the better. Good luck!

i can prove ownership of a website for the past 10 years and affiliate commissions paid from it

@Sam ********
That is fine, others have used the same. I know someone got theirs via just working on developing their website and monetising it.
