STV final visa extension, I need to extend my visa but it seems that while most insurers have reduced their coverage, the STV 100k USD requirement remains. Can anyone recommend a suitable insurer? I was previously refused an extension at CM IO due to inadequate coverage so it needs to be correct, previously changed from Axa to Luma but they've since reduced the coverage. Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around finding suitable insurance options for extending the Special Tourist Visa (STV) in Thailand, particularly given the requirement for coverage of at least 100,000 USD. Users share experiences with various insurers, like Tune Insurance and FWD, highlighting that while some insurers have reduced their coverage, it's crucial to meet the minimum coverage requirements set by the immigration office. Recommendations include contacting Mr. Prakan for insurance options and discussing the adequacy of current policies based on immigration guidelines.

I looked at my previous policy, it only mentioned the 3.5m thb covid cover and that's all immigration were concerned with. I got my visa extension today using the FWD policy. Regarding the benefits of other policies, I don't expect to make any insurance claims, I've had covid already and if I have an accident it would probably be doing an activity not covered by insurance. For me the insurance policy was purely to get the visa extension which it did.

Good luck then, I once asked FWD and their response was as follows:

The FWD GI COVID Inbound Plan C has a combined limit of THB 3,500,000 applied to Outpatient and Inpatient benefits for COVID-19 illness only.

Even if the coverage is 10k the prices don't seem to go down... 100usd fire a month. I'm wondering who makes money on this...

He's talking about a Special Tourist Visa. You're talking about something completely different. Stay on topic.

I've been here nearly 6months not having to worry about border runs, I dont want to start that. After this visa finishes I'll either look at alternative visa type or return to UK for 6months.

Where do you find the rules? What if you went for 30 days, extend, border run for another 30, extend. for a total 4 months?

Maybe for a short holiday, but there's higher coverage requirements for the STV
