Get your extra passport/ application photos taken today, so you're ready for tomorrow. Remember to dress nicely and smile tomorrow during the application process. You don't have to, but it can help alot. Good luck.

I've heard Phnom Penh is the least friendly consulate over the years for tourist and business visas. Have you heard differently? I did my biz visa in Penang one year, and found them to be quite alright though not necessarily friendly, but overall have always found it quite hospitable in Vientiane. Ideally, all consulates would be equal and we could have alot of fun mixing it up by going to different ones throughout the region annually/ semi-annually depending on the situation.

I've heard they are very not-friendly over there many times over the year. Because of that, I wouldn't chance it unless several people chime in now that they've had good experiences there very recently.

Yesirree Bob. That's what I meant. I know that guy's American, as am I. So yeah, a 30-day visa exempt. But even here, it's all conjecture. I'm hoping someone with real legal up-to-date info will chime in.

You probably could do a Mae Sai border run and get a one-month re-entry stamp visa on arrival. I would sometimes do this when my Business Visa was running out/ out, and then do it up to 3 times maximum. I would always smile politely and explain that I'd soon be heading back to the US to score a proper real visa again. They sometimes told me that, yes, that was the preferable way to do things, but they still tolerated me after a real visa to have several back-to back tourist 30-day entries. But of course, your mileage may vary....

Then for that, there's the search function for this forum or other expat in Thailand forums. Info's out there, first-hand.

Just had to do similarly 2 wks ago when we had 2 holidays during the week, and my expiration was for a Sunday. I went the Thursday b4, but instead of losing 4 days, they predated the stamp for the full 30 days. You'll be fine.
