My education visa expires mid-March and I plan to travel out of Thailand in the first week of April. Will I be able to extend this type of visa for 30 days to cover the extra weeks I plan to stay here? Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the possibility of extending their education visa which expires mid-March, as they plan to stay in Thailand into early April. Responses indicate that an education visa (ED) cannot simply be extended by 30 days; instead, the visa must be extended based on education status through the institution. Additional comments suggest alternatives like a border run for a new visa, but stress the importance of maintaining study status for valid extensions.
And ...the visa is fixed u can not put an extra 30 days on an ED visa, u need to extend it here with the papers of the school .u need an re entry or the visa will be invalid as well because u left .....
You probably could do a Mae Sai border run and get a one-month re-entry stamp visa on arrival. I would sometimes do this when my Business Visa was running out/ out, and then do it up to 3 times maximum. I would always smile politely and explain that I'd soon be heading back to the US to score a proper real visa again. They sometimes told me that, yes, that was the preferable way to do things, but they still tolerated me after a real visa to have several back-to back tourist 30-day entries. But of course, your mileage may vary....
Yesirree Bob. That's what I meant. I know that guy's American, as am I. So yeah, a 30-day visa exempt. But even here, it's all conjecture. I'm hoping someone with real legal up-to-date info will chime in.
Wow a re-entry stamp visa on arrival. Two total different things. Re-entry stamp is used to keep your current Admitted to stay period alive, a Visa on Arrival is just for 21 countries and good for 15 days. I think you mean get a 30 day Visa on Exempt Entry.
