Can I Extend My Non-Immigrant Multi-Entry Business Visa Without a Work Permit While in Thailand?

I have a question about possibility of extending or obtaining a new visa. Currently I have a Non-Immigrant, Multi-Entry Business Visa (no work permit, valid until July 22, 2020), with last 90-day re-entry stamp expiring on 19, April 2020, but covered under the automatic April 30 Covid immunity extension. I work as a consultant, receive my money from the US, and both the US and Thai companies will support me with paperwork for visa renewal.

I have never had this kind of visa and done a renewal or extension while in Thailand before, so don’t know what is possible. I used to just run the old one down and get a new one on a trip to the US. Currently, I don’t want to leave. Is this type of visa extendable, though I am not a work permit holder? I want to start organizing my paperwork right away, if so.

If I can renew here, what document requirements should I follow? In the US, I followed the listing for the Royal Thai Consulate LA. Would someone at Chiang Mai Immigration be able to give me a list?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster inquires about extending their Non-Immigrant, Multi-Entry Business Visa while in Thailand despite not holding a work permit. They seek guidance on document requirements for visa renewal and options available given their current situation, especially in light of COVID-19 immigration policies. Comments indicate that since the individual is not employed in Thailand and does not possess a work permit, the standard option to extend based on employment does not apply. They are advised to wait until the amnesty period ends or return to the US to apply for a new visa.

The only option is to apply for an Extension of Stay based on employment, but because you are not employed inside Thailand, does not have a Work Permit, this option is not for you.

You applied for this visa to visit companies conduct business in Thailand, not to live and work inside Thailand.

As you are also using the amnesty, as your last day to stay inside Thailand was 19 April 2020, you can just sit out this period until 31 July and read the announcement what to do to get a new visa. OR, go home, wait until after 22 Jul 2020 and apply for a new Non Immigrant B visa based on employment in Thailand.
