@Tony ********
, it's valid exactly as long as your current stay permit (entry/extension stamp).

@Nick ******
, hmmm. Both the WP and extension are yours and not for them to cancel

The "business visa" you cancelled was likely an 1 year extension of stay.

To bad you did that. You could have applied for a retirement extension immediately. Thus no need for a new visa. Just a change of your reason for extension.

You would also had the possibility to get a new work permit without a new visa, should you later on decide to come out of retirement.

But all that is too late now...

The waiver was for those who already had an O-A visa when the insurance requirement came.

As this is now 5 years ago an an O-A visa is only valid for 1 year, it doesn't apply to anyone.

You can stay until the last day of your stay permit (your entry stamp).

The dates on the visa are irrelevant.

Your knowledge of Thailand seems rather limited for someone who claims to be a "tour guide". 😜

And by the way, it's strictly illegal for a foreigner to work as a tour guide in Thailand.

,if you have a stamp that states that, you have no visa at all and and all the answers in your post has been in vain.

You have an extension of stay.

If you leave Thailand without first getting a re-entry permit, your extension (stay permit) will be void.

, wrong. He have to leave within 90 days of his arrival in Thailand.

The visa sticker don't have that information, but his entry stamp does.
