and, there's that. this is the most confusing 2 me. rules differ on where u are. but, like anywhere else, you learn to live with it. i don't think that changes any time soon.
or truly confused. some folks, and i taught IT, mentored seniors, young kids, and when someone is new, they know nothing and are confused about everything. itz not only the stupid, altho there are plenty of those, 2.
why would you want advice for a patently illegal act? itz disrespectful to the country and the people in it. You would save 400 and take the chance of being arrested (however remote). why bother with all that. pay the 1900 and you will have absolutely no problems at all.
yes. am doing it (extension to the 60 day setv) tomorrow in udon thani. do use vientiane for setv. it is literally brain dead. i know, cause mostly brain dead myself. u can also search this group for all that info. jb
As long as you leave thailand on your last day of visa, or exempt, doesn't matter. I did just that. Plans went awry so I had to stay a 3rd day as I arrived too late to queue. No matter. I left thailand before overstay or red stamp came into effect. I was there on a Thursday, which is not recommended. I can confirm that. Crowds galore. jb
I just received my SETV at Vientiane (US passport). Did not have to submit any requirements, just filled out paperwork. Cost, 1000 baht. Did this on Sept. 27, 2018. Just so you know. jb
