i am not in hospital now, but spent 8 days in ICU for heart failure. I am not worried. my doc will not even clear me to fly. so therez that. will seek other options wen medical runs out. all I can do. and she will give me the document again, wen I next have to go to immigration. she already has informed me of that. thanks for the comments.

thanks TD, I was just kind of surprised that she asked for 90 on the thai paperwork for immigration and they only gave me 30, but, I know she will fill out other paperwork for me. she is adamant about the not flying thing. and all the rest, too. I am to remain as bed ridden as I can stand. she wants me to do absolutely nothing but let me heart heal, OK. she is very adamant about this.

you can get medical extensions of stays over and over, so don't sweat it when this one starts to expire, just take the same documentation from the doc and go apply for another one.

The immigration have a doctor to estimate date of stay base on the medical documents from the hospital, it’s not easy, if you are not admit in hospital, they will not provide 90days for you. Next time you can get the document again time extend.

OK, I am not worried. Just making a comment. We shall see what we see when she releases me. Then I will be making diffie decisions. But thanks for your comments. Much appreciated.

Unfortunately extensions of stays based on medical reasons are not easily handed out and the way the rule is written it says they will be granted for no longer than 90 days.

Usually people get 30 or 60. I've never seen someone get a 90 day extension for a medical reason no matter how serious (except at Bumrungrad Hospital that has an immigration officer come there on Saturday and do extensions for their patients).

I know BH well, even if that is their non-ICU price, it is very reasonable. Great hospital providing quality care!
