Urgent question please, what's the absolute latest time you can get to the consulate in Vientiane to submit a visa request? I know its recommended to go early but need to know what time they stop allowing people in to join the queue

Also, from what I understand they are closed on weekends, so does that mean if I do it on Friday I'd have to wait till Monday to pick it up?

They say 11:30 but don’t risk it, no later than 11:00. Processing is 1 working day. Like the guy said, stop at the building on the left FIRST to get the form and fill it out ONCE you’re cued up in line. You’ll have time enough

Mondays are busy too but get there earlier and you'll only wait about 90 mins. There is a separate line for people using visa agencies so you need to be in the right side lane. You can get a form in the building on the left and full it in while you wait in line

As long as you leave thailand on your last day of visa, or exempt, doesn't matter. I did just that. Plans went awry so I had to stay a 3rd day as I arrived too late to queue. No matter. I left thailand before overstay or red stamp came into effect. I was there on a Thursday, which is not recommended. I can confirm that. Crowds galore. jb
