OK, this is just for confirmation. A simple yes will suffice. Coming up to an end of my 30 day extension of stay for my visa exempt status. Will go to Ventiane to get 60 day SETV. From what I kknow, the money requirement, travel onward requirement and residence requirement are not needed. Just hand in my paperwork and passport early 1 morning and then pick it up next afternoon. Gosh, I hope I finally have this right. I will prolly take the 20,000 anyway. Just makes me feel safer. TIA. I love this group. Ta. Shalom Cheers Aloha, jb

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user confirms they will apply for a 60-day Single Entry Tourist Visa (SETV) at the Thai consulate in Vientiane after their 30-day visa exempt status extension ends. They are seeking reassurance about the requirements, particularly regarding proof of funds, onward travel, and residence. The comments clarify that none of these documents are necessary for the SETV application.

Okay, the thai consulate in Vientiane requires NONE of the 3-proof-ofz to get a single entry tourist visa AND the border at Nong Khai will NOT ask for proof of 20K baht cash when you stamp into the country.

Yep, if you go on your own, avoid monday and Thursday morning.

20,000 baths for some beer Lao is overkill.
