Hi gang. I would like to ask for advice for the least expensive and fastest air connection so I can get my visa renewed that way. I am in Udon Thani and don't have any idea of the best, the fastest and least expensive way to get my visa stamped this way. Thanks in advance for any advice. It is greatly appreciated. JB McFadz

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user in Udon Thani is seeking advice on the cheapest and quickest way to renew their visa. Comments suggest using travel agencies or Google for travel advice, highlighting that the tourist visa costs 1,000 THB at a consulate and discussing border runs. The easiest option appears to be traveling to Vientiane, Laos, for a tourist visa renewal, with suggestions for taking a train to Nong Khai and then a tuktuk.
To find the cheapest way from your location to a Thai Consulate or Embassy I suggest to use a travel agency or Google. This page is for Visa advice and unfortunately not for travel advice.
The tourist visa is 1.000 Thb at a Thai Consulate or Embassy. You don't get a tourist visa by just crossing a border stamp out Thailand, stamp in/out other country and return Thailand.
I know about border hops. I just did it about a week ago. My question is, where is the easiest, least expensive way to get a non ground based tourist visa. That's all I want. I read you are only allowed 2 ground based tourist visas. If that's not true, I can border hop till the cows come home??? yes?
Jackie Blue you don't have a 30 day regular tourist visa because there is no such thing. You have a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp.
You can only get a 6 month METV from a thai consulate in your country.
You can extend your 30 day visa exempt entry by 30 days at the immigration office for 1900baht.
You can go to a thai consulate in Vientiane Lao and BUY a single entry tourist visa for 1000baht. It will stamp you into the country for 60 days when you enter.and you can extend that by 30 more days at the immigration office for 1900baht too.
I am going to do the non immigrant and then retirement visa thing. but need to plan in case something goes wrong. I asked in here about the retirement with my special considerations about a week ago.
