I hope it’s a fixed deposit interest bearing account.

The money still loses value every year due to ~7% inflation, but 2% APR interest helps reduce the loss.

one thing you will learn after coming to Thailand is that most people have no idea what they are talking about.

This includes ex-pats as well as Thai bank officials. Most don’t have a clue, or are trying to save face.

Thai people will often give you a (wrong) answer because they want to appear knowledgeable.

The right answer seldom matters anyway, because the rules are always changing and if they don’t money makes them change.

bull crap.

You misunderstood.

A non-o visa is not only acceptable, but easier and preferable.

Get the Non-O visa. Much better.

You don’t really need to have a yellow house book, but it is convenient.

in America, when you break transfers apart into smaller units to avoid the law it’s called structuring. And structuring is a separate crime which can result in jail, fines and seizure of the money.

Really bad advice.

I believe other countries have similar laws or everyone would avoid limits this way.

You can withdraw the money, but… the real question is, can you send it out of the country?

Especially now with all this ridiculous “anti-scam/mule account activity”.

permanent residence is not a visa and cannot be accomplished solely through an agency, nor can it be done online.
