Hi, looking for advice regarding medical certificate for OA Visa. I’m in Australia andd having trouble getting a Dr to sign off on it. My Dr refused and referred me to Bupa Immigration Medical Service who informed me that they do not deal with this type of request…. any advice would be appreciated 🙂

Non O is a lot simpler, but seems your doctor isn't very helpful, he doesn't even know you well enough to sign off on those 5 specific diseases? Maybe time for a change.

a non O visa versus an OA doesn't require all those extra proof documents. Lot simpler.

I had this problem, last year, but, in the U.K.

GP refused to do it, saying that I needed to go private.

I looked online and , I got a certificate from

There was no examination.

They trusted my information.

I’m guessing there will, likely, be similar companies in Australia.🤷🏻‍♂️

Do not apply for the Non O A as it requires medical insurance too. Apply for the Non O. No insurance or medical certificate needed.

Why would you tell someone not to get medical insurance for Thailand?

didn't tell them not to get medical insurance. Just told the OP it's not a requirement for a Non O. I assume they are adults and can make that decision.

you need a long term visa if you are over 50 get a retirement visa from your local Thai embassy, don’t worry about making any mistakes they will come back and ask for more info if needed, I did mine in UK and it took about 3 weeks

I got a Non-O visa in Kazakhstan in 2 working days. Obviously using the official Thai e-visa website, stating and proving I was in Kazakhstan throughout the process. Got back one query about having a work permit for Kazakhstan, which I have and submitted a scan, or I may have received it even quicker.

Huge misunderstanding. You can open a bank account on a Non O

To open a bank account with K-Bank you only likely require a Thai phone number, your Non-O visa copy, your passport including the Non-O entry stamp and a Certificate of Residence from your local immigration office. (Need to have your TM30 filled out or if living in a hotel etc. they’ll likely submit the information to immigration on your behalf.)

bull crap.

You misunderstood.

A non-o visa is not only acceptable, but easier and preferable.

Email confirmation definitely states OA Visa but given all the requirements I am thinking it will be easier to go down the non O Visa pathway 🤞

one thing you will learn after coming to Thailand is that most people have no idea what they are talking about.

This includes ex-pats as well as Thai bank officials. Most don’t have a clue, or are trying to save face.

Thai people will often give you a (wrong) answer because they want to appear knowledgeable.

The right answer seldom matters anyway, because the rules are always changing and if they don’t money makes them change.

It’s just a form saying you don’t have those weird diseases listed on it. How hard is that for a doctor. Geez

Hmmm I think I agree with one of the answers below - find another doctor! I’d only been to mine twice and after mentioning it to him, he was fine with it! Had to do bloods and urine etc. but all good from there! I emailed some of the immigration doctors in Melb and they wanted to charge a fortune, but mine was the price of a normal visit! Good luck!

yes she needs a better personal doctor. Any doctor you visit regularly should know your health history and complete the form

Another reason to get an O instead of a Non O.

Go to google and type in ‘Doctor Donna Bangkok’ and see if they can do an online appointment
