yes it’s true, and you can’t really blame people for using a UK address if they are resident in Thailand. However I can see that changing when the new tax laws take a hold as the thai authorities will have access to more information. Let’s just hope that the UK government don’t backdate their enquiries.

If you move to Thailand on a permanent basis and don’t have residency in the UK then your state pension will be frozen at the rate when you become resident in Thailand.

Ask anyone who has travelled abroad without insurance, had a bad accident and spent weeks in hospital recovering running up medical bills of over £100k whether or not having insurance is a good idea. Accidents happen and there’s nothing you can do if you’re just in the wrong place at the wrong time

Hi, I sent in my application for a SETV last November 3 weeks before travel, along with a self addressed prepaid special delivery envelope which is a bit cheaper than the £10 fee. Posted on the monday and it arrived back on the Thursday. I’ll be doing the same this year.
