Yes but depends on the type of work foreigners are allowed to do, even then any company/business must employ four Thais to one foreigner.

Crikey all the posts I read on FB about not being able to open bank accounts by foreigners and here there are dozens commenting with bank accounts with different banks. Hmm🤔

Apparently if a foreigner marrys a Thai MALE, the foreigner does NOT have to show any monies in a Thai bank account. Just got to find a wealthy Thai bloke that will keep you hmmm🤔, maybe a problem there lol🤣🤣🤣😂

Totally agree with your comment. I used to say to my Thai friends on a regular basis, I hope Thailand doesn't give up it's beautiful culture and respectfulness of others to the way some Westerners conduct themselves.

If your assumption is correct, why don't they just kick all long term foreigners out of the country. Idi Amin did it in Uganda about fifty years ago to all Asians. I think your analogy is incorrect, they are very welcoming of foreigners on yearly visas, it's the ragtag scum tourist, mostly from England and Germany that they should throw out of Thailand.

To read some comments about so called rip off agents, there must be plenty of foreigners living on a shoe string in Thailand. Lol🤣

Possibly true with all banks whichever country you are in apart from the likes of ISA accounts. I reckon best thing to do is transfer some funds from your UK account/s on a regular basis, say every month/3months using Wise or another transfer business. Just my thoughts.
