Hi, are you worried about being asked to pay taxes after you have been in Thailand for a while with DTV?

Can you get the tourist vat refund on purchases when leaving Thailand for a week if you have the DTV?

Asking for my partner: he is a Dutch citizen registered as a “world traveler.” In this case, he moves around and never stays in any country for more than 3 months. Since he does not live in the Netherlands, he is exempt from paying taxes there.

If he stays in Thailand for more than 180 days per year, how does this affect his tax obligations?

Hello,

I am going on DTV Visa and will stay over 180 days

New 2024 law says foreign incomes are now under tax in Thailand.

I'm from France, as my income is from there and already taxed, can it still be taxed in Thailand?

Apparently it's the income brought into Thailand that's taxed, and then ATM withdrawals and card payments from foreign cards are taxed also from what I read. What could I do? Need help please!

So this is an intersting hypothetical having read the DTV requirements on the Thai embassy website.. Any insight would be appreciated:

I receive a military disability pension and as a result, am tax exempt in the U.S. If I am on a DTV, will I be tax exempt in Thailand as well if I stay over 180 days, or will I have to pay tax on my U.S. (tax free) income in Thailand?

Not a Thai visa question, but definitely everything else :)

I'm looking at longer term visas in the region as a fall back for worst case scenario regarding tax liability in Thailand.

The Philippines looks to be the best option for long stay, no tax unless earning in country plus increases to UK state pension whilst in country.

Cambodia offers retirement long stay, no UK pension increases, not sure on tax yet, not resident under 180 days.

Vietnam only up to 90 days, no pension increase. Hope they extend visas going forward one day. Malaysia similar on 90 days.

Any other options I've missed? Thanks.
