Both are possible indeed. When you make a non imm O retirement in Thailand you have to go to immigration a couple of times and already transfer 800kā¸ŋ in your Thai bank account as international transfer. Then after 60 days you can ask for a year extension based on retirement. With the non imm O retirement in y'r country, you get 90 days already and after 60 days you can ask the year extension with or 2 months before the 800kā¸ŋ in your bank account OR an income statement (affidavit). Much less hassle.
? I did this procedure from 2010 onwards (I now already live in Thailand for almost 5 year). Not THAT much changed. Only she has to go to VFS Global in the Trendy building. Write an invitation letter and that you take care she goes back. And you need the 'garantie verklaring' with income and you let her stay with you, stamped by y'r local municipal office. Also copy of her last visa may be helpful.
if the Thai Embassy/ Consulate in your country still sells the 6 months multi entry Tourist visa. It allows you to stay 60 days and then a border hop to get another 60 days. (for now you still need a Thailand pass). This can be done untill the end date of this visa. So if you do a borderhop right before the end date, you can almost stay 9 months (last entry 1 extension of 30 days).
, Sometimes I have issue that a box is not 'clickable'. When I go to the same website with another browser, it works. Ask not why....but it sometimes worked for me....đ¤ˇââī¸
Buy a visa in y'r home country. With most (not all !) airline companies you have this problem when you have NO visa and only want come in on visa exempt. And it's also what Bobby Howard says. So even a bus/train ticket out of the country will do.
nice tips overhere. Although I am from the Netherlands (Schengen), I think it's the same for every country; they want to be sure she goes back to Thailand after 90 days. I also wrote a letter in which I said I would take care of her and also would take care of her return. With my phone number and that they (Embassy, now also VSB Global) could phone me

Then, I also needed a Thai healthcare insurance for her and a stamped certificate of guarantee by my municipal office of my income and gave her place to sleep in my home. But long time ago and UK not schengen. I started the same like you by asking and gathering info. Even got the tip that she must dress appropiate when going for the application đ I did everything myself. An agent will normaly ask you the same proof and papers. Good luck !!
