I suggest renew every year

1. Nobody knows how long they will live although everyone hope it to be a long time

2. You never know what changes in the future may change your plans

Health changes, desires change, situation in Thailand changes in the future

If you look to open a bank account ASAP and deposit your required finances, you can go to Immigration and apply for a 30 day extension then at the same time apply for your visa, they may want you to season your funds, have them in your Thai bank account longer, if so at the end of your 39 day extension of stay do a boarder bounce to receive another 30 days

You can do 2 boarder bounces per year, entering by land

Flying out and back in unlimited however it is at immigration officer’s discretion on how many times

Also when arriving it is not a 30 days visa unless you are applying for one, it is 30 days visa exempt

Is it wise or your bank the money is coming from

I transferred money on Monday & on Tuesday

No issues it took seconds, even though my bank was having issues on Monday, I still got to transfer

My bank was having issues transferring money in and out on Monday, a payment due to go into my bank was held up along with other customers until the error was fixed on Tuesday afternoon

My transfer of funds already in my Aus account were completed although looking at the account in Aus (not wise) it send the payment was pending 🤔

I’ve seen it on n the consulate over many years 90 day single entry tourist visa

The last thing me I was there was about 14 months ago

You can only stay 60 days at a time on a tourist visa

I can read, in the consulate they advertise it as a single entry 90 day visa, however this is all I could see on the internet

Same as the 6 month METV is a 6 month visa, however you have to boarder bounce every 60 days

I used to do the METV every year for 5 years before going on to a retirement visa

Other ppl would do a 90 day single entry tv from Sydney Thai consulate

They call it a 90 day Visa however it’s 60 days plus 30 day extension

Because on tourist visa you can only stay 60 days

On there 6 months METV you have to boarder bounce every 60 days however it is still a 6 month visa
