morning all, still on the question of wise for transferring money over , so if I input 800,000 baht it's giving my an exchange rate of 42.7 and have to send £19,758 pounds, and it's saying charges £120, so I've looked at the comparison list and they are more money to pay in to get less out, if that makes sense, I still think it's expensive, what do you guys think, any suggestions, thanks
morning all, another question for you, not visa related but more bank account so I think it's visa related anyway, so struggling to decide on 2 things,
first is sending my 800,000 for my non o retirement visa, not keen on having to add details to wise and then send the money to them first , I might just use my Lloyds international account.
second one I was thinking of getting this xpatphone for my UK number and just buy a data SIM , would the bank still take the paperwork from the phone shop as evidence or do they need a Thai phone number as well, so I can download the bank app,
thanks again for all your help though the run up to the move.
Hi all. I've been using Wise for paying rent, deposit and such but Thailand is not supported as an account with acc number to receive money transferred from others.
So as my rental contract is ending, Im curious what are the options to receive back my deposit besides in cash (just in case) when I don't have a TL bank account (couldnt open)? If u have experienced this before please let me know.
If I transfer money from my uk bank account to my wise account and change the pound sterling to Thai bahts within my wise account, once in Thailand I intend to transfer the 800,000 bahts from my wise account into my new Thai bank account, would that satisfy the rule which says your money should have come from outside Thailand?
I find myself in a stressed situation atm. I’m a freelancer and working remotely. I need to open a bank account either in Thailand or somewhere else to get paid and to be able to pay for my expenses.
I don’t know where to open? I can’t open in my home country since I’m not resident there anymore and have been aboard for so long time.
I have only Revolut personal account and I don’t know if I should receive or transfer money there becuase I’ve heard people got flagged and got their account locked.
What are the alternatives to solve this that you can’t open a traditional bank account in Thailand?
Do they have neobanks that are easier to open?
I’m a freelancer and I just need to get paid somewhere, right now I have a balance account on the clients platform but that service only is deposit and I need to cash out those money to an Bank who have IBAN and who can give me virtual pay card so I can spend and use my money.
Anyone here opened a Wise account in Thailand as business/freelancer to receive money and then get a virtual card to pay your payment since you can’t open a traditional bank?
