TLDR : Answer Summary
The user encountered a delay with their WISE money transfer, which was put on hold until August 6. Several comments highlight common reasons for delays, such as transferring during holidays or sending larger amounts, which may require extra processing time. Users shared their experiences, noting that some transfers complete quickly while others may take longer depending on various factors, including the time of day and the bank involved. Suggestions were made to use reliable alternatives like Remitly and to check for bank holiday schedules to avoid delays.

Why is everyone using wise? Will they send the card to you in a foreign country? I'm currently in Panama and I have no plans to return to USA before I come to Thailand. Thx in advance!

I switched to Revolut and use the subscription for 80€ a year. I hear this too often now that Wise is freezing accounts and what not.

It’s working fine for me. I transferred 500k baht from a UK bank to WISE to BKK Bank at 7.30pm yesterday. It cleared in BKK Bank by 10am today.

For future reference, in the app and no doubt online banking you can make any account a trusted account so it doesn't go through the security checks and is much quicker usually seconds.

It may be though that you have been unlucky with a random pull and check

Is it wise or your bank the money is coming from

I transferred money on Monday & on Tuesday

No issues it took seconds, even though my bank was having issues on Monday, I still got to transfer

My bank was having issues transferring money in and out on Monday, a payment due to go into my bank was held up along with other customers until the error was fixed on Tuesday afternoon

My transfer of funds already in my Aus account were completed although looking at the account in Aus (not wise) it send the payment was pending 🤔

The last few times with Wise, (last time yesterday) the transfer time to Krung Thai Bank, with my debit card and fast transfer, has only taken a few seconds.

This is a transfer of 45,000 Baht per time, and it has only taken a few seconds, even though it is a weekend or holiday.

When the questioner does not tell which method he uses and how much he transfers, it is impossible to answer his question.

There are many way how to transfer money using Wise. Some are fast transfer, some are slow, some are from Bank transfer, some are with debet cards and all depending of transfer fee.

Fast transfer with debet card 2 second but most expensive.

Use my link and get a free transfer::

It's stories like this that dissuade me from using Wise even though I have registered for it. I use bahtsmart from Australia at a slightly lower rate. One transfer review like this would send me into a frenzy.

whatever company you use will have to comply with the banking regulations. If a 10 day delay in a transfer has a major impact on your finances then maybe you should look for some contingencies.

I have been using Wise to transfer money for over 7 years now and never had a transfer take over a couple of days. I assume that each one will take 10 days so it is never a problem.

Can depend on amount you send ,higher amounts can take longer and public holidays can delay processing.

Very common if you try to transfer during a holiday.

I've transferred at the beginning of a long weekend before and checked wise after the first day back and they said if I transferred then it would be instant. But I still had to wait most of the day for my transfer I made a few days earlier to arrive.
