yes. Im getting a crash course in these Thai visas available. Each have a few obstacles . I'm considering getting the 6 month METV and getting a 30 extension on each 60 stay? That would give me 9 months .

Taking language classes would require i stay in one place for the duration of the classes.

Greg Alexander yes i agree. the DTV locks you into one area which is fine. i was looking at Thai language courses in Bangkok.

so you got your visa DTV based on doing Muay Thai classes which is a very lenient immigration requirement. but you never went to any muay thai classes.? Thats the same as getting a DTV visa for thai language classes and never showing up.

Since you plan on staying in one place the whole year for the 12 month language classes the DTV looks best for you.. If you were going to travel around thailand a few months in different locations then go for another visa. I think your required to go twice a week for 2 hour classes for the whole year? Some language schools will do the paperwork for you. it will cost ??

i am comparing the METV and Non- O retirement visa. The METV is 6 months and id have to leave for a visa run every 60 days. i read i can extend each 60 day stay with a 30 day extension for a total of 9 months. Thats 3 x 90 days.

of course the hassle of flying out and returning every 90 days . Its alot easier to get. i think its 4000 baht ?

Then after 9 months i would come back to the US and apply for the

Non-O visa.
