What should I do if I have not filed my 90-day report and TM30 in Thailand for 1.5 years?

Hi, i ve been in Thailand for 1.5years now with dtv but never stayed 3months in a row, always went somewhere before so never done the 90days report and never asked a tm30 from previous landlord. Now I m thinking of doing it for the first time and I have some questions.

I don’t know if my previous landlord reported my residency at that time, not sure for the current one neither but I am going to ask the current one to give me the tm30. If neither or one of them didn’t report what do I risk?

My dtv is with muay thai lessons but it’s been a while i didn’t do any, should i register in muay thai courses before going to immigration ?

Do i also need to have the amount of money requested when we apply to dtv?

Any other things to be aware of?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster (OP) has been in Thailand for 1.5 years on a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) linked to Muay Thai lessons but has never completed the required 90-day reports or ensured that their landlords filed the necessary TM30 forms. They are contemplating filing the TM30 and asking questions about potential risks due to prior non-compliance. Community responses highlight that failing to file the TM30 could lead to fines, difficulties in visa extensions, and potential scrutiny from immigration authorities. However, recent advice suggests that simply filing the TM30 now may suffice to avoid issues but emphasizes the need for the OP to be proactive in ensuring all requirements are met moving forward.
90 DAY REPORTING RESOURCES / SERVICES
  • Use the trusted Thailand 90 Day Reporting Serviceto get your in-person report done and mailed to you for as low as 375 THB (even if the online system doesn't work for you).

I was worried about it to. I didn't get tm30 for 30 days. Then a few days before I left Thailand to get it renewed. I was told because I live and own my condo there was no need to file for new one. When I left going through immigration they didn't say anything about it. I guess I'm ok

so you got your visa DTV based on doing Muay Thai classes which is a very lenient immigration requirement. but you never went to any muay thai classes.? Thats the same as getting a DTV visa for thai language classes and never showing up.

Larry Wheeler i was doing muay thai then broke my leg and they didn’t let me continue i wonder why that’s indeed weird why would the trainer not allow me to do muay thai with a broken leg, doesn’t make sense right? i think it is clearly specified that we are obliged to continue the lessons with a broken leg

You have to leave anyway in the next 3 month do why you want to file 90 days? If you don't need anything from immigration just skip it and it will be deleted when you leave the country

I’m confused I thought DTV is DTV and Muay Thai would be under education visa?

Ellen Chamberlain DTV for muay thai as a leisure activity, gym membership, NOT courses for education.

These are very different requirements.

ED visa require attendance and can be audited by immigration, failure to attend could lead to cancelation of extension.

DTV is not audited or required attendance simply having purchased a membership/training is enough to comply.

You are notvrequired to have any more than your original purchase for the 5 years. BUT if you try and extend while in Thailand you basically have to prove everything as in the first application.

So a quik border bounce and renetry gives you 6 months each time.

Chris Nadon thanks. I’m pretty happy where I am, if I decide to return to Thailand again for long term w/o a job I guess that might be an option ✌🏼

Of course it could all be trashed and new things in place by then 😂

Ellen Chamberlain you can get DTV either through working remotely or a soft power (muay thai or cooking) or medical reasons. But I don’t know much about the specifics of the education visa though

Visa extensions denied: Immigration often refuses to process extensions if your TM30 is missing or outdated.

90‑day reports rejected: Even if you qualify to file, Immigration may reject the report until the TM30 is updated.

Fines: Officially, landlords are responsible, but if they don’t file, Immigration may fine you (typically 1,600–2,000 THB).

Extra scrutiny: Immigration officers may question your travel history or ask for proof of residence before approving any new visa or re‑entry permit.

Rae Wang very good but as you know If the landlord fails to do this, the following consequences apply:

Who is fined the landlord is liable for a fine, typically ranging from 800 to 2,000 Baht for each instance of non-registration.

Who suffers the practical consequences the foreign tenant often faces the most trouble, as they will need the TM30 receipt for visa extensions, 90-day reports, or other immigration services.

It’s messy and blaming the landlord although correct it’s the responsibility of the tenant to ensure it’s done and don’t assume it’s done.

I call it stupidity if you don’t have a plan you plan to fail.

Immigration can make it very difficult for you if you couldn’t be bothered why should they.

It’s then everything by the book. You will become frustrated and that makes it worst.

Try to get a TM-30 filed where you stay, go to the immigration office that has jurisdiction over that area, they're not going to question you about your course or the money.

you didnt get any of the multitude of landlords to file it. You failed to notify ceasing Muay thai. '' if you stay in Thailand for more than 90 consecutive days on a long-term visa (such as retirement, marriage, business, education, or digital nomad visas), you are required to file a 90-day report with Thai Immigration. This process is officially called the Notification of Staying in the Kingdom over 90 Days.

Key Points

Who must file: Any foreigner staying in Thailand longer than 90 days on a visa that allows temporary residence.

What it involves: Reporting your current residential address to Immigration every 90 days.

How to file:

In person at an Immigration Office

By mail (registered post)'' You quote a rule that doesnt exist. Everyone files 90 day.

Rae Wang wrong on both counts he never stayed 90 days. 2nd it is the landlord’s sole responsibility to file the TM30. Several landlords recently have been caught and find for non compliance

I own properties, 7 in thailand I also travel extensively. any one who relies solely on a landlord is an idiot, You obviously do not know what you are talking about. Do you think the average landlord gives a stuff if you later have problems....You make sure the landlord does it. And that means taking responsibilty, something the OP and you, know nothing about.

Jo Clemente ""Private rentals or staying with friends/family: The landlord or homeowner is responsible. However, if they don’t file, Immigration may hold you accountable when you later apply for a visa extension or do a 90-day report. In practice, both the host and the foreigner share responsibility to ensure it’s done.'' So stop talking bollocks about a subject you are woefully ignorant about

Go spill your frustration somewhere else

PassionateAvocado367 the tm30 or 90 day report have no effect on your Visa or activities.

The tm30 is required by law to have within 24 hours of arrival, failure have a tm30 is a fine but rarely enforced.

If you get one now that is fine and no problem.

If you fail to do a 90 day report it is a 2000b fine whether it's a day late or a year.

Both of these only really cause a problem if you need something from immigration, extension, residence certificate.
