Thanks all for the advise and clarification. Even though the misconception about visa category causes some setbacks we have still other options available. Cheers and have a good day everyone. Will now disable the comment.

@Mark *****
this is confusing about Thailand in the category when you read it are as follows Non O - 90 days retirement visa which activated by going in and out of Thailand every 90 days

Non OA - 1 year long stay visa required 800k in the bank ( which what part of we submitted at the immigration in Thailand)

Non OX - 10 years visa divided into 5 years needs more money in the bank.

Anyway we are aware that you cannot change category whilst inside Thailand but I thought only applies for Non Ed or B or O however we didn't realized it does also apply for Non O to Non OA. Anyways thanks for the info, we will get in touch with the embassy to apply for new OA visa category. We have all the required documents ready.

Retirement Visa info, for those who need this info.

The Thai government issues two types of retirement visas for foreign nationals:

The One-Year Thailand Retirement Visa (“O-A”), which is issued to foreigners aged 50+ of all countries and is valid for 1 year with the option to renew annually.The Ten-Year Thailand Retirement Visa (“O-X”), which is only issued to foreigners aged 50+ from certain countries for 5 years’ duration. It is renewable once more for a maximum of 10 years.

Thank you, his company sent email to Thai Embassy in Moscow inquiring the process of returning to Thailand, hopefully they will allow him and grant him COE.

Non Immigrant categories as far as I know;

Non B - work/business visa

Non ED - Educational visa

Non O - Retirement visa (OA/OX/O)

Non O - Based on marriage to Thai National

Non O - Dependent visa of foreigners who hold Non B Visa i.e., spouse and children.

That as far as I know are under Non- Immigrant, feel free to correct if I understood it wrong.
