Look at the Chinese Embassy Bangkok website for the company that does their visas.

I did similar for a friend with the Chiang Mai Embassy.

You will fill in an online form and give it all to the visa company.

You need to get an online reservation for meeting the visa company staff, so do this first thing….you cannot just walk in.

Gather your documents beforehand as this makes the process easier.

They seem to only accept single entry visa .

Make sure you have a local Chinese person who will be your contact there. Name, address, phone number.

Make sure you have a sample itinerary along with your flights in and out purchased (you can try to get refundable tickets). Also provide all of your hotel reservations ( again get them as refundable).

Upload all of this to the online visa form. Plus print out all the above information to attach to your application. Make an extra copy of everything…..

Once you get your visa and go to China, you will need to fill in the paper Arrival Card.

Do it very neatly!

Immigration gave me a hard time because of messy handwriting. They wanted to see all of the reservations so have them handy.

Also you will need to fill out the health decoration form just before departure to get your health qr code.

Good luck and have a nice trip to China!

First do some homework. Read old posts.

This gets discussed daily….

60 day tourist visa. 90 day extension.

They seem to want to know how long you will be there….number of days…along with check out date.

Try putting the date your "one year visa" ends.

Hopefully the parents would have considered this, made a will and found a relative or friend to take care of said hypothetical minor…..

What we don’t know is when you would start coming to Thailand or how much experience you have here.

Start simple.

Come for 30 days visa exempt and visit a few different locations.

Extend for 30 days if you like.

Go home for a while.

Then come back on a 60 day visa and extend another 30 days.

This will give you a better understanding how you like Thailand.

Try visiting in different seasons also…winter, hot and wet seasons are not the same.

If you really like living here, then establish a bank account, make some Thai friends, talk to expats and begin to make plans.

Good luck!

Where did you invent that idea?

I transferred much more than that twice for property purchase this year.

No problem.

Cash in your wallet about $1000 Oz.

Onward ticket.

Hotel reservation for at least one night.

Then the IO doesn’t have an excuse to send you back.

Although as a first time traveler the likelihood of problems is almost nil.

Have a nice time in Thailand.
