Sometimes the airline staff ask for it, sometimes not.

Sometimes immigration officers ask for it, sometimes not.

Do you need an extra hassle?

You are overthinking this.

Come in for 10 days and enjoy yourselves.

Go out .

Come back in for 25 days and enjoy Thailand even more.

There is no such thing as the limit you mentioned.

You will not look like you are trying to live in Thailand.

No worries.

@Chris *****
it’s certainly enough time to know if you don’t like it

Why do you have to stay for a year to see how you like Thailand?

Get 2 month tourist visa and extend 1 month.

By then you will know how you like it.

So you want to live in Thailand based on children going to school there.

How will you support yourselves?

You cannot work without a work permit…..and you cannot stay long term.

Find another scheme.

Tell your "friend" to get back to Thailand ASAP or risk starting everything all over again. Kap

Sometimes the airline checks, sometimes they don’t.

Sometimes immigration checks, sometimes they don’t.

Best to have a cheap or refundable exit ticket…..

I’m wondering how does a 10 year passport get used up in 5 years. Does Thai immigration place that many stamps?

You can put some sticky notes on the blank pages for the agent, but it’s time for a new passport…..
