I just left Thailand and am in Hanoi. I have until Nov. 29 until the Thai 60 day tourist visa expires. Would that be a problem?

I physically will be in HCMC too but I can only apply through Hanoi on the website since that's what my stamp says?

I wasn't planning on applying for the DTV on this trip but considering it. I'm going to Cambodia on Dec. 7. Would it be a problem if I apply for the visa in Vietnam and enter Cambodia a week later while awaiting approval? Or I have to be in the same country as the application when it's approved

My indian friend came to Thailand from suvarnbhumi Airport on a 6 months multiple entry tourist visa. This time instead of 60 days, he got stamp just for 30 days. He forgot to check the stamp at immigration counter. Is there any possibility of correction because as per his visa he is allowed to stay for 60 days. TIA

ATTENTION: RUSSIAN PASSPORT HOLDERZ

The promotion the thai government had where Russian passport holders received a 90 day entry stamp which started back on Nov 1, 2023 runs out April 30, 2024.

That means IF you want a final 90 day entry you need to exit/re-enter on or before Apr 30th. :)

It was just announced that effective May 1 until July 31, Russian passport holders will now get 60 day entry stamp.

Recently we’ve seen a few posts about people getting incorrect stamps in their passport - either on entry or by an immigration office when getting an extension.

Immigration officers are human and therefore can make mistakes. The onus is on you to check the stamp they gave you.

One recent one was a person with a UK passport that was stamped in with a ผผ.90 stamp effectively showing they could stay for 90 days when they should have received a ผ.30 visa exempt stamp for 30 days. Probably was on the same flight as a group of Russians that correctly got the ผผ.90 stamp and the immigration officer just didn’t notice the error.

The immigration computer system almost certainly has the correct date you are allowed to stay until but the manual stamp shown in your passport may be wrong.

The fact that the entry stamp (or extension stamp) is incorrect does not mean you have the ability to stay until that date.

Another common error is that people with a PDF Visa from the evisa system are stamped for an exempt entry for 30 days as the officer hasn’t noticed they have a visa, so they don’t get the correct 60 day stamp. Almost certainly in this case the computer system will show they can only stay 30 days, when it should be 60.

Again the onus is on you to check. As a general rule you can get an airport stamp corrected at most immigration offices (some may say you have to go back to the airport to correct it), but if a land entry stamp then 100% you’ll need to go back to that entry point to get it corrected. If the error is from an extension stamp from an immigration office then almost certainly you’ll need to return there to get it corrected - although that may differ from office to office.

ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS; Bad Entry Stamps :/

We have gotten a couple posts where people noticed they got stamped in with bad entry stamps (giving them more time then they're allowed WEEKS after they stamped in :(

Just so EVERYONE is totally clear, IF you get stamped in wrong, (for more time than you're supposed to get when you enter) you CANNOT stay until the date on your stamp.

You are 100% responsible to make sure you're stamped in correctly, so check your stamp BEFORE you walk away from passport control..

One other thing, MOST (but not all) offices will correct a bad air entry stamp for you, although they are not obligated to and can send you back to the entry airport if they want to

BUT

the rule about land entry stamps is; if they're wrong you go back to the border crossing that bad stamped you and get it corrected THERE. As a rule immigration offices inside the country won't correct a bad land entry stamp

Keep in mind IF you run on overstay due to you not paying attention and thinking you could stay here as long as you were bad stamped in for, you WILL be charged overstay, and when you do apply for an extension it will start from the date your real stamp should have ran out on.

One last time people

Check your entry stamp when the hand your passport back to you at passport control. Don't care how busy they are, how tired you are, you want to avoid problems CHECK YOUR STAMPS..

Hello members.. I’m at the moment in Cambodia and I have I metv (multi entrance visa) for Thailand still active.

In case I get back to TH by bus, am I going to get 60 days stamp as same as by plane or I must fly back? Thanks
